Robin Lumsden Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I think I have most of them ..............................
J Temple-West Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Wow! Superb, Robin... But....surely you need shields with backing cloths for all three branches.
Paul R Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Would the Westwall have been considered to be a campaign medal?
Odulf Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) To my understanding, the Westwall medal, like the three medals for the "Flower Wars" (annexation of Austria, Sudetenland/Czech, Memel) were considered as Political/Party Medals (like the Mother's Cross, etc.), and therefore these were not allowed to be worn in public after the war. Robin Lumsden Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 And here are my 'Shields That Never Were'.................................
Robin Lumsden Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017 Latest .......................... the complete set of originals and the complete set of fakes/fantasies. Only the Memel is missing ........................... and that just existed as a 1960s drawing.
Robin Lumsden Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Just added this one to the 'fakes and fantasies' case. Apparently, it was created last year !! The faker could not spell (Grossbritannien) !!

Here's one that appears to be die struck in zinc alloy. Or as any COA author worth its salt would write: "materials and construction correspond with those used during the period". Matthew Macleod Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Maybe there are more than we know of out there too.
