Not the rarest of the rare... but this is a pretty nice group and Waffenfarbe.... can anyone guess what the large crowns are for?

Bingo!

Usually for colonels and above it was apparently also for officer ranks lower than colonel in general staff positions?

So now i have the crowns. I know need the blankets and saddle!! :-)

Hi,

Jup, unfortunately a split group at some stage. It is from Major Heinrich Graf von Luxberg, A Generalstabs Officer who served on the staff of the II B.A.K. from the outbreak of the war until the end of May 1916, He was 3. Generalstabsoffizier (See here)

Then he joined the 10th Bavarian Reserve Arty Regt commanding a Battery, before taking over the regiment in 1917
