Guest Darrell
Thanks to Gerd, I now have both Variations of the Order of the Red October Revolution. This one isnt cased or attributed, but doesnt take away from the beauty of this award.Obv:

Ed_Haynes
And, to present it here too, my "problem-child" "group". I think of it as a set of singles stuck together. Must have been a mass award of these on this date?

Guest Rick Research
I don't have the sheer NUMBERS to be statistically significant, but there SEEMS to have been a PARALLEL bestowal of these in 1971/72, with"Group X" in the 1X,XXX-2X,XXX serial number range while simultaneously and seemingly out of numerical order"Group Y" was in the 4X,XXX serial number range.I have no explanation for this seeming anomaly. I don't SEE such a divergence in numbers being handed out at the same time later on, but then I simply don't have enough of a documented serial number range on these. This is a "Polar Star" sort of mystery. SOMEBODY, methinks, shipped out the wrong batch of pre-numbered awards, and they got used out of sequence.????
