Mecklenburg trapezoidal bar

Jumping back into collecting, I picked up this 2x Mecklenburg bar with original ribbons....in for the unification but out before the Franco-Prussian...please let me know your thoughts.

Is it odd for an officer not to have any awards?...this is essentially just service award for the unification and a long service award for 9 years.

Sorry to say like that, but it is not a bar from Mecklenburg. It's Oldenburg!

Here is a long service cross mounted insteate of a missing Campaign medal from Oldenburg 1866!

Are you sure? The ribbon of Oldenburg medal 1866 is rather red in the middle, and the internal stripes in dark blue...

The Mecklenburg ribbons are more lighter and not so colourful.

Nice bar, but on your picture Oldenburg medal is on the correct 1st position - and on the bar of thread starter behind the cross (as the Long Service Corss should be)

two short questions: why I have never meet a collector in our archives in Mecklenburg? How is possible that I have all mecklenburgian rolls and thousands of files in copy, but always other collectors have more knowledges?

Thanks for your help Seeheld.....jumping back into collecting after a long hiatus and I'm very rusty....too bad it isn't Mecklenburg. I would love to add another to my collection but it is seems not today.

why...? Oldenburg from this time is cool too and it is not often seen too....just find the right medal and you have a nice bar

Heiko.....agreed. I didn't mean to say that Oldenburg isn't good, just not in my collecting field
