This large, well-made, hard mock leatherette booklet-- of a size that would have covered a WW2 Wehrpass or Soldbuch...

...contains a photo ID issued by the Home Establishment of the Bavarian IIIrd Army Corps at Nuremberg

    on 11 November 1918

attesting that Leutnant der Reserve (of a 2 digit infantry regiment which is too fuzzy to make out) Matth?us Schabert, born 2 November 1889 in Brachstadt bei Donauw?rth, of Bavarian nationality, is the person shown and whose signature is below.

This is obviously a laissez-passer for the stellv. Genkdo. III. B.A.K. headquarters.

The war might have ended, but demobilization and revolution were at hand.

OMG, he is wearing his silver wound badge superior to his EK1. I know he was an officer and should have known better, so how he got away with it is beyond me. As far as the document, this is consistent with an A-H Aviation officers documents I have.
