Uffz. Rohleder Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) Hello all, I got this nice EK2. It's marked with "We" Edited February 8, 2019 by Uffz. Rohleder Change the maker mark description
Uffz. Rohleder Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 After a closer look it looks more like "We"
Alex K Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Hi my list shows "We" as "Unknown maker" unfortunately, so we may never know

buellmeister Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I concur. It is a beautiful Cross by the way Joel !
ixhs Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hi, you can find them also in a 1st class. "we" is the only marker which made a stamp into the eyelet. As i began collecting somebody said: "we" means Weckwerth - but i do not know a Jeweller "Weckwerth". so it is still unknown.

ixhs Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Yes, i could be Werner, but this info is not 100 % sure.

"We." 1st class crosses are considered to be early war award types, and there were only five makers to supply the GOK with 1st class crosses until 1917: Joh. Wagner & Sohn, Sy & Wagner, J. Godet & Sohn, Gebr. Friedländer and J. H. Werner - all from Berlin. In my eyes, everything fits perfectly with this attribution...
