SovPha Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Just wanted to share this beautiful unresearched ORS # 483587 (1st half of 1944). The enamel is in perfect condition and the screw is made of silver. Research is in progress. Ill let you all know once I have more information on this ORS. Edited April 14, 2020 by SovPha
BalkanCollector Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Beautiful piece! How do you determine if the screwplate is made from silver? I've tried the "sound test" with some of the silver pieces from my collection but I guess my ear is not trained enough to know for sure.
nickstrenk Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 A nice example of the reverse Shagrens skin-Шагренова кожа.The screwplate is from silver. It is seen from the first sight.

PREM Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Excellent piece! Do you have access to the name list awarded with the Order of the Red Star by order number?

And also the patina can help identify. 1
