Henke
Hi all Any ideas why this bar shows a non combatent 1870 medal, the ribbon is for a combatent? Has it been replaced? Best Regards Henke
VtwinVince
That is a very unusual Schnalle, you don't often see the Schleswig-Holstein cross on a mounted group. It was possible to have the steel NK medal for 1870 on the war ribbon. What is the medal with the green ribbon?
Komtur
It is the official medal-ribbon combination (Kriegs-Denkmünze von Stahl am Combattanten-Bande) for stay at home service of military personnel.

Hello Vince, The medal with the green ribbon is a Brazilian medal for the 1852 campaign in Uruguay (during the Platine War). This is a very nice and unusual group! VtwinVince
Thanks, and that just makes this bar that much more unusual.
Paul R
One of a kind bar, that is for sure. So then the non combatant campaign medal with NC ribbon is for civilians only?
