    Hi all

Any ideas why this bar shows a non combatent 1870 medal, the ribbon is for a combatent?

    Has it been replaced?

    Best Regards
    Henke

That is a very unusual Schnalle, you don't often see the Schleswig-Holstein cross on a mounted group. It was possible to have the steel NK medal for 1870 on the war ribbon. What is the medal with the green ribbon?

It is the official medal-ribbon combination (Kriegs-Denkmünze von Stahl am Combattanten-Bande) for stay at home service of military personnel.

He was at least 2 weeks in military service, but didn´t leave Germany.

    Hello Vince,

The medal with the green ribbon is a Brazilian medal for the 1852 campaign in Uruguay (during the Platine War).  This is a very nice and unusual group!

    Best regards,

One of a kind bar, that is for sure.

So then the non combatant campaign medal with NC ribbon is for civilians only?
