Deutschritter
I am looking for all of the Generalfeldmarschalls WW I decorations (maybe EK I?), especially the Turkish ones (he had many before the war), which he surely received. Can anyone help? Thanks! Does anyone know if he entered the Infanterie-Regiment „von Boyen“ (5. Ostpreußisches) Nr. 41 1861 as Fähnrich or already as Sekondeleutnant? Is this Colmar in Turkish uniform around 1890??? Edited August 31, 2021 by Deutschritter
Deutschritter
He seems to be wearing EK I here (left):
Bayern
A curiosity, on the picture of the GFM von der Goltz with a nurse and a officer with red cross armband ,calls my atention the fact that the officer wears the uniform of a Infantry Regiment with litzen on collar and Brandenburg cuffs and not the uniform of a Medical Corps doctor .
Deutschritter
Hello, Bayern, I tried looking that up and found a few things, this is what I have wirtten (in German): Linkes Bild: Colmar Freiherr von der Goltz zwischen Maria Agnes von Borcke (1895-1983; seit 1920 verheiratete Gräfin zu Dohna-Schlobitten, vier Kinder), 1914 bis 1918 DRK-Schwester, und Königlich Preußischer Hauptmann sowie Kaiserlich Osmanischer Major Fritz Trützschler von Falkenstein (1878–1962), Leiter der deutsch-ottomanischen Sanitätsmission des DRK in Konstantinopel; rechtes Bild: Beisetzung des Generalfeldmarschalls in Konstantinopel. I would love to know more about Trützschler von Falkenstein. He was Chemiker from Weimar. Did he visit the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Akademie? Was he maybe Stabsarzt or Oberstabsarzt? Maybe even Dr. rer. nat.???
Bayern
Hello , Deutschritter , Sehr interesant ! I think that Herr Trutzschler von Falkenstein was a Royal Prussian Hauptmann der Reserve but his Civilian ocupation was that of Chemist . I dont believe that he was a Stabsarzt or Oberstabarzt if so the caption of the pic will say Royal prussian Oberstabarzt or Stabsarzt , apart the uniform he wears is clearly not Medical . Thank you for your interest !

Morning chaps, I am assuming he is Ludwig Ulrich Martin Fritz Trützschler von Falkenstein, born 9 February 1878 in Weimar. Formerly of the Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 1, he retired from active military service on 17 October 1907. Promoted to Hauptmann a.D. on 1 November 1914 as the adjutant of the commandant of Berlin. Regards Glenn
Deutschritter
Thank you, Gentlemen! 23 hours ago, Bayern said: Hello , Deutschritter , Sehr interesant ! Thank you for your interest ! Just to clarify: I wrote the caption. ? And yes, now I finally know, he was not a military doctor, he studied Chemistry at the Militärtechnische Akademie in Potsdam. He started in the Großherzoglich Mecklenburgische Füsilier-Regiment „Kaiser Wilhelm“ Nr. 90 in Rostock, 7 March 1896 Sekondeleutnant (Patent or entering?), 1903 (?) Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 1, 20 March 1906 Oberleutnant. I still haven't found out what he did between 1907 and 1914 (although he was owner of the Falken-Verlag from 1917 until 1919) ... but I am still searching! He died 1962, sadly I don't know where. He was married from 1901 until 1907, three children. He did have the Zentenarmedaille, 1897, Sankt-Stanislaus-Orden, III. Klasse (RSt3) and very probably the Gallipoli Star. GreyC
There were 4 gentlemen by the name of T-F. listed in Berlin in 1912, neither a Curt nor a Fritz among them. Maybe he lived in one of the surrounding cities like Potsdam or Spandau, etc. He did not live in Darmstadt, the place of the Falken-Verlag he took over from his relative Curt in 1917/18 in 1912 either. Deutschritter
Thanks so much for searching! This gentleman is making it really hard! His brother (he had three older brothers and one younger half-brother) was Oberleutnant a. D. Louis Wilhelm Gerhard Karl Kurt (born 17 July 1874 in Torgau) ... I have no idea, why he gave up the Falken-Verlag ... maybe death?! Fritz (born 9 February 1878 in Weimar) wrote the book „Beseelte Farbenlehre“ (Weimar 1938), maybe it was just published there, but maybe he went back home and lived there? Its more than possible that he received some Argentinian Diplomatic decoration .
