Deutschritter Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) Oberstabsarzt Otto Gustav von Niedner (1869–1946) was, after Dr. Friedrich von Ilberg, "Erster Leibarzt" of Kaiser Wilhelm II., he would later become Generaloberarzt (Charakter?). Any and all information would be appreciated. Strange how almost nothing is found on the internet. When was he made a noble? He not just had the EK I (1914), but also the EK 1 (1939) ... what did he do in WW II? He died in March 1946 in Hohenschäftlarn, but I am not sure. Thanks! Edited November 2, 2021 by Deutschritter
Bayern Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Perhaps Hermann Historica is in position of contact you with the Family of Dr von Niedner 1
Dave Danner Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Niedner, Otto Gustav * 25.05.1869 in Rüdersdorf, Niederbarnim 30.07.1895 Promotion zum Dr.med. (Univ. Breslau) 16.06.1913 in den preußischen Adelstand erhoben Is there any actual evidence (such as an Urkunde) that the 1939 EK 1 is his, and not another family member's, such as his son Hans Otto (*1910)? 1

Good question, if the EK1 from 1939 is his, he should have the repeating clasp and not the cross it self. I can also add the following informations: He was awarded the knights cross 2. class of the HdL in 1902, the Knights cross 1. class in 1914. 1
Deutschritter Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) Thank you, Gentlemen, and yes, very good questions. But not many answers from Hermann Historica. Was son Hans Otto also a Sanitätsoffizier? He supposedly also had the Franz Joseph-Orden (https://www.lotsearch.de/lot/dr-otto-von-niedner-leibarzt-kaiser-wilhelms-ii-kaiserlich-50788855). Maybe we can find some better pictures of him? It could also be, that Wilhelma von Niedner (1916–2021), who married the later Fregattenkapitän Kurt Reitsch (brother of Hanna Reitsch), was his daughter?! Edited November 3, 2021 by Deutschritter

Dave Danner Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 The 1918 Prussian Court and State Handbook shows him with the Roter Adlerorden 3. Klasse mit der Schleife. Other than the KO2X, which you already have, it does not show his other war decorations. The entry is even missing many of the pre-war German state awards in the rank list entry you have above. The 1918 Court and State does not list non-German awards at all. 1
