Deutschritter
Gentlemen, Rudolf Hagmann (1892-1980) served as Beobachter in the Fliegertruppe in WW I. Does anyone know exactly which unit? When was he promoted to Leutnant der Reserve? ??.??.1916? He received EK II and I, anything else? After his studies he served as Wehrmachtbeamter of the Luftwaffe, at last Generalstabsintendant (Ministerialdirektor). Thanks to Dave we know he received the Imperialer Orden vom Joch und den Pfeilen, Großoffizier on 20 January 1941. GreyC
Interestingly not listed in Luftwaffen Career Summaries. With this high rank he should have a file at the Bundesarchiv. Deutschritter
Sadly so, but I think the Luftwaffen Career Summaries only lists officers, not the Wehrmachtbeamten like Hagmann.
GreyC
That will be the reason. Unless here is nobody to answer your question the best bet will be the file at BuArch. Have a nice weekend! GreyC

Herman
And this Wehrmachtbeamter somehow got a WW2 EK2 wiederholungsspange and not a KvK. Interesting. Regards Herman
Soderbaum
Hi, I realized that I could afford 6 Euro each month to get access to millions of names on ancestry.de, a huge amount RLs,RQLs, MWBs etc which no researcher in this area cant be w/o imo. ? It took me less then two minutes to find the promotion to Lt dR for Hagmann, 11.11.1916 (Leonberg) anyway, Except the BAMA file mentioned by Grey (actually wrong labeled regarding DOB), Hagmann also have an file in Berlin as well one military file in Stuttgart and some other files in Württemberg archives. Among his War flying units was FAA 223. Gunnar
Deutschritter
Thank you, Gunnar! He must have seen a little bit of action as Luftgauintendant im Luftgaukommando Belgien/Nordfrankreich (May 1940 until March 1941). These are the awards I have for him: Abzeichen für Beobachtungsoffiziere aus Flugzeugen (1914) Eisernes Kreuz (1914), II. und I. Klasse Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer Wehrmacht-Dienstauszeichnung, IV. Klasse Wiederholungsspange (1939) zum Eisernen Kreuz II. Klasse (1914) Imperialer Orden vom Joch und den Pfeilen, Großoffizier am 20. Januar 1941 Bundesverdienstkreuz am 21. Juli 1958 Now the promotions (except for Gefreiter, Unteroffizier and so on) should be complete: 3.8.1914 Kriegsfreiwilliger (Eintritt) 11.11.1916 Leutnant der Reserve 27.8.1925 Regierungs-Assessor 1.12.1926 Regierungs-Amtmann 20.12.1926 Regierungsrat 1.4.1935 Oberregierungsrat 1.10.1937 Luftkreis-Intendant 20.2.1940 Generalintendant 1.11.1944 Generalstabsintendant 6.8.1947 BRD-Oberregierungsrat 2.6.1949 BRD-Regierungsdirektor 1.2.1951 BRD-Ministerialrat Edited February 26, 2022 by Deutschritter
