Yup. And you cannot wish for better provenance than that! Pitched at an institutional purchase would be my guess. Beautiful collection of some historical importance but as I would only be interested in the medal & am not prepared to sell my car (nor my wife) to finance its purchase I will just have to pass. Thanks for the heads-up BlackcowboyBS.

As I stated on the German forum, I have a bad feeling about the EK2, and some of the seller's other material is fake.

I can't judge it from these photos, but would doubt nearly every IC from 1813 at the beginning. They are rare as hell so temptation to fool collectors is pretty high. And to be honest, does one really expect to find a hidden treasure on ebay? I don't! But in Germany we have a saying: Man hat schon Pferde kotzen sehen, so nothing is impossible.

LOL, das ist echt komisch. Anyway, in the 'olden days' you could find great rarities on ebay, but those days seem to be over.

While it may be on eBay, it's being sold by Kai Winkler. That should be all you need to know to run in the opposite direction.
