Prussian Machine has him entering service on 19 July 1870, Wikipedia (de) states 30 August 1870. Does anyone know the correct date? Did he enter as a war volunteer or as a Fahnenjunker? Thanks! Please let me add a question: Generaloberst Gustav von Kessel was still Oberbefehlshaber in den Marken in 1914. Did he keep his command until 1918?
