91-old-inf-reg Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Could it be an 1849-1849 Austrian large golden bravery medal and an Austrian service cross for 40 years?
Alex K Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Hi thanks for the reply, i appreciate it, i have since found that the large round medal is the austrian 1908 jubilee medal for foreigners, Luitpold received the version in gold, as far as the long service cross goes, i agree with you, it certainly looks like the most probable from a visual perspective, my only problem is why would he recieve it? as to the best of my knowledge, he never served in the KUK armed forces, but who knows!!? Regards

Was he a regimental colonel (Inhaber) of a KuK regiment, perhaps?
Alex K Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Interesting point, ill explore that option, thanks Regards
