Hauptmann Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 (edited) Oh, I nearly forgot. I found a few more examples of badges I like. I especially love the 3d effect and colors on this first one. These I found on Motka's auctions. And of course if anyone has any objections to the use of these I'll be happy to remove them. He says this one dates to the 50's: Edited January 11, 2007 by Hauptman
Hauptmann Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 (edited) He also lists this as being from the 50's. Again I just love the look of this piece along with the one above:And this type which I believe is much more common... yet another goal for down the road:Back to dreaming... someday! Guest Rick Research Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Old threads never forgotten... today I found a 1942 dated Mariiskaya Local Veterans Commissariat photo of "Comr. Kayashynkov" wearing an exhibition participants' pin, like those shown by Chris in post 9 and Chuck in posts 41 and 44:but too small to make out exact details:In addition to having his tie-less suit buttoned left-handed, this is the first civilian attired photo I've encountered in an RVK file.
Hauptmann Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Been a long while since I've been able to add anything to this part of my collection. I've been wanting one of the serial numbered medals since I got into these and finally managed to get one. Seller (Motka) says it's a 1954 but hoping one of you can either confirm or correct this if it's wrong and perhaps give a bit more info on it. Also, does anyone happen to have a piece of green replacement ribbon for these?
Hauptmann Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Also does this appear to be the original nut? In any case, I'm happy to be able to add a serial numbered example to the collection at last. Dan
Alfred Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Great find Dan, serial numberes medals are not so commmon. Medal is from 1954. Medals from 1955 have no serial number. I think, there is still enough green cloth left. Put the piece of metal below the cloth. regards Andreas Edited June 28, 2011 by Alfred
