slava1stclass
Gents, I can now confirm an eleventh Red Army recipient of the Legion of Merit in the degree of Chief Commander - Army General Ivan D. Chernyakhovskiy. Chernyakhovskiy commanded 3rd Belorussian Front at the time he was killed in action on February 18, 1945, in East Prussia. President Truman approved Chernyakhovskiy's posthumous Legion of Merit award on May 22, 1946. I have updated my book to reflect this important new addition.
