Bob Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Not the sharpest pic but still nice. All belonging to 1 mother. Unfortunately missing 1 booklet for 1 of the 2 small medals.
Paul R Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 How were these medals earned? Was it by the number of children birthed? That is a spectacular and rare grouping!!! I have never seen another complete set like this! nice find

Dolf Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 (edited) How were these medals earned? Was it by the number of children birthed?Paul,Quoting PMD:- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 5 children ? the 2nd Class Motherhood Medal"- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 6 children ? the 1st Class Motherhood Medal"- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 7 children ? the 3rd Class Maternal Glory Order"- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 8 children ? the 2nd Class Maternal Glory Order"- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 9 children ? the 1st Class Maternal Glory Order" (PMD states 8 children for the 1st Class, as for the 2nd Class, but I believe this is an error)- "mothers who gave birth to and reared 10 or more children ? the Title Mother Heroine"There are obviously more stuff on the Regulations for these awards, but basically, as the number of children is concerned, that's how it worked.Dolf Edited May 20, 2006 by Dolf
