Bill Garvy Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 The pictures from my earlier post disappered somehow, so I am reposting them.
Bill Garvy Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 My latest addition, courtesy of "Motorhead". . .
Bill Garvy Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Reverse, highly polished by a former owner, not Motorhead though. . .

Motorhead Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I did not know this. How long has this information been available?Well,I've never heard that before-is that information somehow confirmed?Micha
Eric Stahlhut Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 i thought that about 6-7 years ago a new member posted a nicely-marked '14 ek2 packet/envelope on another forum. i've tried to find the thread but have had no luck finding it. perhaps our mr. tom y has managed to save an image. i dunno..
Tom Y Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 i thought that about 6-7 years ago a new member posted a nicely-marked '14 ek2 packet/envelope on another forum. i've tried to find the thread but have had no luck finding it. perhaps our mr. tom y has managed to save an image. i dunno..Doesn't ring a bell. That was several crashes and a couple burns ago, so no chance of a scan :(
Eric Stahlhut Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 drat! perhaps marcus hatton? he was really into cartons, cases, issue packets.... anyways...carry on with the k.a.g. crosses! i'll see if i have any types that haven't been posted. i know i've got at least two or three examples.
gregM Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Here is mine--The more common crown design and thin "W"
Eric Stahlhut Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 here is one of the first crosses i obtained. the core is grainy. sand cast, perhaps?
Eric Stahlhut Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 dainty hinge and catch assembly. notice how high up the catch is placed.
Tom Y Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Here are 3 2nd Classes that to my eye appear to have different cores.First, a thin W, rounded crown, and narrow date on the obverse. Narrow stem on the Oakleaves on the reverse.
Tom Y Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 #2, Rounded crown as in #1, but thicker W and more squared off 1914. Reverses are very similar.
Tom Y Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 #3, More squared off crown, W similar to #2, 1914 similar to #1. Completely different Oakleaves with a very wide stem on the reverse.
