Stogieman Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 An outstanding bar to a Junior Officer from a Saxon Duchy? The Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt HOwX is very, very hard to find on ribbon bars!
Deruelle Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Hi Rick, I have another Schwarzburg ribbon on a ribbon bar. I think I will buy it. As soon as it arrive I will post a better scan. Please find my ribbon bar with SE3XChristophe
Guest Rick Research Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 jumping I'd say that was an officer from Inf Rgt 95 (Saxe-Meiningen, pair in the middle of the first ribbon bar), since Inf Rgt 71 (Schwarzburg) was brigaded with it-- makes sense for the combination.I can't say, now that things have dried up, that I have any "source of supply," but in the Golden Years (1980s), my sources were, accidentally, split between Hamburg and Bavaria-- so I never saw these small Thuringian states' awards much.If only Erhard Roth would do the -Meiningen and -Coburg WW1 rolls, the way he did Saxe-Altenburg's!!!!
Mike Dunn Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Is that style of swords used with many awards? They look bigger than most. Nice bars. Mike
Bob Hunter Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Rick, what do you suppose it would take to encourage Herr Roth to do the Meinengen rolls? As you know I have a vested interest in that action.
Deruelle Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Hi everybody, Have a look of a pre-1934 ribbon bar from Schwarzburg.RegardsChristophe
Guest Rick Research Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 It is clear now why no Thuringian ribbon bars are making their way across the ocean! Christophe has ALL of them!!! :food-smiley-004:
Deruelle Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Yes ALL Thuringian ribbon bars found a new home in France. Don't hesitate to give me yours, my home is so sweet jumping jumping Christophe
Stogieman Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Christophe, I am thinking we will need to add your home to the "must see" militaria tour soon!!
