Daniel Murphy Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Micha, Thanks for posting these. Anytime we can put a name on a unknown maker of the 1914 EK, it makes my week. We have always known they were high quality pieces.Dan Murphy

Douglas 5 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Very nice these L 59's and still full of misteries , as far as all these extra symbols and markings go !I just started looking into these various markings ,amazed how many there are and all the position variations . Is there any published reference material on them anywhere ?Thanks, Douglas
Jani Tiainen Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 BTW- First screwback L/59 with such nice maker marks I have ever seen!!!!!Thanks,Jani
Steve campbell Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 What is the story on these square punch markings? Are they considered maker marks or some other sort of mark? I have an Imperial EK2 with that mark on the ring and was wondering about it. It has a zinc core.
Douglas 5 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 As I have been told these 'Markings' are still a bit of a mistery :L59 , 23,26, etc are the maker marks. Then there is a small group of 'Inspection Marks', ..like a squere , circle . one dot , 3 dots, triangle , the common Long-gated S , a X and even a Swastika .There are a lot more stamped markings, .... that I have started looking into , that are used that may indecate a seperate parts manufacturer and or assembler markings . Just a project I started because of something I ran into unexpectendly, ...well if I get enough samples first , then we will see .Douglas
