Wm.Hamelman in his reference work for PLM recipients lists him as Major and commander of Inf.Rgt.Nr.20 for defensive battles/engagements against French forces between the Oise and Aisne Rivers in the time span of Aug.26 and 30, 1918 as well as the Battle of Vauxaillon.
