    7. Not much known about these mountain artillery units. I have a Militaerpass from a Wachtmeister that served in the Bad.-Gebirgs-Kanonen-Batterie 1 - He fought at the Hartmannsweilerkopf in 1915. Transferred to GeBa1 from FAR50 - He was trained on the 7,5 cm Gebirgskanone L14 - was a Zugfuehrer and Feldwebelleutnant. Picture of a gun from the Baden GeBa1 in action at the Hartmannsweilerkopf - 1915
    8. Chris, I checked the EKI awarded in SB3 -and there was no Weegmann - Are you sure the document is from SB3?

    13. Love the FO Boyle tribute - incredible!
    14. Unteroffizier Georg Nietz - Toulouse September 1916 - note the PG on the tunic
    15. I thought the same thing. ... but there is more to it. Not only was the hat in Constantinople - It was actually made there. Inside the hat is a makers stamp that reads: Erste Mützenfabrik des Orients mit elektrischem Kraftbetrieb OSTROW Konstantinopol
    16. I recently acquired an Imperial visor hat. When I inspected the hat I found a folded piece of paper inside the sweat band. The paper was folded and inserted in the front of the sweat band to fit the hat better to the head of the wearer. I noticed some writing on it, so I carefully unfolded the paper.
