    1. Oh, actually I wanted to say that cross and ribbon do not belong together in my humble opinion ...
    2. Hm, looks most likely like an Russian St. Anna order, or maybe Braunschweig? It's neither Austrian nor Baden ... No, not Braunschweig, those have more yellow. It's a nice Russian ribbon worn in Austrian style ...
    3. Humberto, this current ebay auction has pictures of both the big (~ 50mm) and small (~25mm) Prussian medal, hope this helps - I've got none, unfortunally. By the way, the Prussian ones are almost common, but any other imperial German LSM is actually rare, from Anhalt to W?rttemberg ...
    4. Great bar, I can say this once more. Interresting to see the three (!!!) mistakes in mounting: Red Eagle Order should be in front of Crown Order, Red Cross medal IInd class outranks IIIrd class and the Belgium order should be the last one, not the Oldenburger. But - still no idea for a name, sorry.
    5. I recently purchased this one on ebay, just 'cause it didn't cost me much money and I thought it could be interresting, and mainly I wanted to know what he's wearing on his bar. Now, the artist was NO falerist, and so I cannot recognize any award for sure but the Iron Cross. The name is given with "F?rst (=Prince) Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg". There were some bearing this name, but this WWI officer cannot be anyone else than this one who was born in 1882 and died in 1925 from a car crash. His rank seems to be Hauptmann, and the awards might be a W?rttemberg MMO, FO3aX, FO3a, ? and a 1911 W?rttemberg Silberne Hochzeitsmedaille --- or anything else, but this came me to mind from the combination and would make some sense from rang, too. The order on the neck a Johanniter-Ehrenritter, much more likely than a Order pour le merit with crown - if Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was a Protestant family. Any help would be appreciated. Here the seller's photos, if betters are needed I'll make some tomorow (but the awards are strange ). Thanks in advance ...
    6. The Hohenzollern house order is more likely the principal but not the royal - the royal should outrank Red Eagle and Crown orders, furthermore it does not look enemaled white. The ribbon under the Erinnerungszeichen is not recognizable, but seems to be monochrome - crown order?!
    7. I know the text, but I do not believe it's really only about orders, but not decorations. You know this would mean almost any badge with "Rettungs" ribbon is a faked one ("fake" meaning real badge with a ribbon that does not belong there) or was worn by someone with Red Eagle or Crown order on this ribbon. All badges with yellow ribbon from Knights of the High order of the Black Eagle? Hmm ... I don't believe until I see any evidence for this ... Why did they use the same ribbons for thaaat many awards ... PS: What ribbon does the Kaiser wear ??? And what are the awards on his bar? Finally, here's a photo of mine, which I received just today. The badge under the huuuge medal bar I believe to be the Erinnerungszeichen, though the picture's dedication dates "1892/94" the picture has to be taken later, as he wears the 1897 medal, and presumably mentioned Erinnerungszeichen from 1906. I cannot read his name, and I wasn't able to recognize all his awards on the bar. Might you help me, please? This is what I came to by now, only in German, but I hope and am sure you know what I mean - thanks in advance ... Klasse; - S?chsische Herzogt?mer, S?chsisch-Ernestinischer Hausorden, Ritterkreuz I. oder II. Klasse; - - - - Rum?nien, Orden vom Stern, Offiziers- oder Ritterdekoration.
    8. On Ebay currently listet is a matching gilt cross, in the box with a maker's (or salesman's) tag from Darmstadt (in Hessen, by the way). I had such a cross for myself years ago, but it was a hard job to get it sold, even for very low money. It's actually rare, but not many people are looking for those ... http://cgi.ebay.de/KriegerKameradschaft-He...1QQcmdZViewItem
    9. No, this text reffers to Bronce from the captured guns, and as the steel medals are made from steel there isn't. But your's is though an awarded one. These are always made from steel, so they are magnetic. Many of the period copys are from silvered brass. The rings aren't magnetic, but have the typical look ... compare to the Bronce ones and you'll see what I cannot manage to express in English at the moment ...
    10. You mean Dr. phil. h.c. Erich Raeder? Ooops, should have recognized him ... The awards updated is: The Ottoman was a mistake, too. Fixed both, now correct? Marianercross is unlikely, anything else possible on this ribbon #12? Thanks in advance ...
    11. Don't know if this helps as it is without a name, but I've had this photo in today's post: a Kriegsmarine offcer with a 14 place ribbon bar, and the first time in my life I recognized all of them (well, one is not sure). I've always had problems with ribbon bars on photos, but ... - Preu?en, Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse; - Preu?en, Hausorden von Hohenzollern, Kreuz der Ritter mit Schwertern; - Preu?en, Roter Adler-Orden, Kreuz IV. Klasse mit der Krone; - Preu?en, Dienstauszeichnungskreuz der Offiziere; - Dt. Reich, China-Denkm?nze f?r Nichtk?mpfer(?); - Preu?en, Centenarmedaille (1897); - Bayern, Milit?r-Verdienstorden IV. Klasse mit der Krone und Schwertern; - Hessen, Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen f?r Tapferkeit; - Dt. Reich, Ehrenkreuz f?r Frontk?mpfer (1934); - ?sterreich, Orden der Eisernen Krone III. Klasse, vermutlich mit Kriegsdekoration; - ?sterreich, Milit?r-Verdienstkreuz III. Klasse mit der Kriegsdekoration; - Ungarn, Weltkriegs-Erinnerungsmedaille oder ?sterreich, Marianerkreuz des Deutschen Ordens (???); - Osmanisches Reich, Silberne Kriegs-Liyakat-Medaille; - Osmanisches Reich, Kriegsmedaille. (my apologize this is in German, but I'm to lazy to translate these all) Hope you like it.
    12. It was a private purchase "award", not only worn by navy guys. They actually were banned to wear post1935 or 1936, but some still wore theirs on bars well into the 40s, Rick Research has shown photos from this era, if I remember correctly.
    13. Coooorrect, and with 66, he was not the oldest of those ... Some more pictures would be nice, I love groups that exotic.
    14. This would have been my best guess, right to know it is even correct. Might you be so kind to post an image of the reverse? I think I've seen one from the same "Ordensspangen-Schneider" before.
    15. I guess it's rather impossible to get something Imperial Russian nowadays and I'd leave it like this. The wearer might have removed the Russian decoration in 1914 ...
    16. Both the cross and the ribbon are German, but don't belong together. Haynau's right. =) Probably not. All awarded Kriegshilfskreuze were in zinc, as I know. The silvered pieces, or real silver ones were private purchase.
    17. Hmm, I'd be not to sure they changed that fast in such issues, for some people, even with officially things, it took wayyy longer ...
    18. Well, sure it is not a "great job", but I'm always glad if people who asked for opinions as naxos did some weeks or months ago regarding this bar, then d o what they were said. It was me and some others who told him the best match for this bar. If he now though had completed it with, let's say a BZL3a without swords and an Austrian bravery medal, it would be wrong and nothing else, that's why I'm condfident with what he did. Sorry for even more spam ... PS: Heinz, would you say that just one of those 12 other decorations using this ribbon would be a better(!) match than the one that now is there?! O_o
    19. That's a veryyyy nice bar, but ... Is it possible (and is it likely ???) that the crown order was upgradet to KO2 and the REO is still 4th class? I don't know, but I'd wonder ...
    20. Hmm, last sentence in my poting should be "I have NO problem with you MVO 4th class. =)", of course. I'm sure someone here has a gilt 3rd class, but I fear that there will come even more faked ones as the genui8ne pieces are damn rare. I wouldn't recognize the diffenrece, but the persons who made out the others, will see it. I don't know if they'll post anymore, but I hope so ...
    21. No no, actually they were in bronce, but it's just a mini, may be the wearer wanted it like this. The bar, anyway, does not match to the 1st class wich was given to highest NCOs, and any 1st class should have a enemaled centre. I don't want to claim it's a modern gilt one. This was presumably done in the 20s and 30s, on minis at least.
    22. No, fortunally not. There are some special features (I don't know them by heart) that cannot be faked, so it's actually useless to "fake" this.
