Soviet Wound Stripes
eitze replied to Riley1965's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Here are my wound stripes. They are all made of some sort of plastic on different textiles. greetings eitze -
Hi there, the Wound Medal with RED anamel is for the military. The civil medal has WHITE enamel. Unfortunately I`ve sold my collection of W-Badges/Medals some years ago. If not known to you, please check this site with some variation of the named medal: http://perso.numericable.fr/~semoeric/LES%...DECORATIONS.htm Greetings eitze

I am sorry Claudio, but I think these impressive bars are not for sale on the normal channels. There would be a too great risk for the thiefes. Either they rip them apart or someone gave the order for the robbery and is now sitting in his celler with all the fine bars All the best for you Heiko !!! greetings eitze

I got my Waldeck VK 3. Kl. with X from Kube and luckily it was such as described in the catalogue. It is a pity that some firms do not send detailed scans or photos, if you ask them A. Thies is also such a candidate - no picture of the backside when I asked for it On the other hand Zeige offers a very good service. Whenever you ask, you receive first class photos !!! By the way Claudio - very impressive pieces, as everything from your collection greetings eitze

This time only paper I was able to get this book: "Offizier-Stammliste des k?nigl. Preu?ischen Infanterie-Regiments von Wittich (3. Kurhessisches) Nr. 83: 1866-1903" This is the Waldeck Home Regiment and it give the biographies of all 316 active and retired Officers of the Regiment up to 1903. You can see in the appendix, that many of them were awarded different classes of the "Waldeck Verdienstkreuz" greetings eitze

Hello Dave, that was the original intension back when the Ehrenzeichen was created, but it is not the practice. During my 4 year tour with the Airforce, only about 10 soldiers of my unit were awarded with the different classes of the Ehrenzeichen. And nobody got it atomatically after completing a special timeline !!! On the other hand I know the case of a private who got the Gold Cross after saving a child from drowning. And it was awarded beside the Life Saving Medal of the German State of Nordrhein-Westfalen! But nevertheless - it`s a shame for us not to own a pure bravery award greetings eitze

Unfortunately - up to now - we do not have any bravery awards for the German Army So the only thing you can earn is the Honour-Medal and the 3 Honour-Crosses. But these decorations are for general purposes. They are awarded for long service, meritorious service or for special occasions, as it was in this case. Mine was awarded in 1986. You can see the document, whis was signed by the then Minister of Defence Manfred W?rner, in the attachment. It is time to create some kind of bravery award for the German Soldiers or make it easy and re-issue the Iron Cross greetings eitze

Just took a fast photo of my small Oman collection. Nearly all pieces were made by Spink & Son, London. Enjoy eitze

Hello Chris, the only known (to me) address is this: http://www.lhd-shop.de/AssortmentEntrance.lhd?current=02 It is the shop for the German soldiers. If you search for "Orden" you`ll find the section, where they are offering orders and decorations. Here you`ll find also a mounting service for a "Gro?e Ordensspange". On my last call to them in 2003, the right man for orders was Mr. Konen. You should try a call and perhaps he is still working in that section. He told me that you can send in broken Spangen and they look if they can repair them - but you have no guarantee! They do the mounting not by themselves, but send it to another firm. I also tryed Albrecht Bender in Bavaria, but they do not sell to private customers And I phoned to some firms who sell "Sch?tzenbedarf" - but without success So if you know someone else, please let me also know! greetings eitze

Back to life Got a new two-piece bar from Waldeck, which consists of these: - Silver Merit Medal with X - Centennial Medal 19. August 1813-1913 for the III. Bataillon of the Infantry Regiment "von Wittich" (3. Kurhessisches) No. 83. This was the Waldeck Home Bataillon/Regiment, which was formed 1862 from the old Waldeck "F?silierbataillon", when they signed the treaty with the Kingdom of Prussia. So Waldeck soldiers became Prussian soldiers. Frontside bar
