    1. Hi Rick, easy only for the expert Thank you very much for identifying the bar. Here is what I found on v. Buttlar in the "Offizierstammliste IR 83", Berlin 1903. greetings eitze
    2. Here`s a new 5-piece ribbon bar with war- and peacetime decorations of Waldeck greetings eitze
    3. So are his numerous colonial bars, he is offering month after month greetings eitze
    4. And here you see a picture of HRH Prince Philippe on his 80th. birthday. He is wearing the Breast Star of the Araucanian and Patagonian "Ordre Noble de l'Etoile du Sud". And a larger picture of a star. Hope you like it greetings eitze
    5. And here is the actual treasure of the bar. It is the "M?daille d'Honneur Comm?morative" of the Kingdom, which was founded on 02. July 1965 by HRH Prince Philippe in gold. A silver mini does also exist, but it is unclear if it was founded in this class!.
    6. Last month I found a mini bar on epay, which was offered as a piece of a FFL member. I`m not collecting French minis or anything of the FFL, but the last medal on the bar attracted my interest and so I bought it for a small amount. It was a piece of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia - only the second I`ve seen by long! The kingdom was known to me by two booklets from my library: - Harold Gillingham: Ephemeral Decorations, New York, 1935 (only a copy) - Roman Freiherr von Prochaska: Die Orden des K?nigreichs Araucanien und Patagonien, without date The Kingdom was founded by the French lawyer and adventurer Orelie-Antoine de Tounens on November 17, 1860, as he singed a decree creating a "constitutional and hereditary monarchy". Here you find the history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Ar...a_and_Patagonia Next a picture of the complete ribbon bar.
    7. I can`t say anything about the above piece, but I wouldn`t buy the Elephant or Lion Order today. There have been sold more pieces of these colonial badges on epay today, than actually awarded greetings eitze
    8. Here are the medals to the Liberia's Order of the Star of Africa in gold and silver.
    9. 4. Klasse mit Schwertern = 24.141 !!! So why are these pieces soo expensive today ???????????????????????? greetings eitze
    10. And here is a picture of a collar of the Order of the Source of the Nile, which was on offer by Spink & Son in 1996 for the sum of 1800 GBP greetings eitze
    11. Here are the pictures of the Werlich book. Unfortunately the b/w illus are not quite good. Back in 1990 it was a good book, but today ...
    12. Claudio, WOW - double Waldeck war awards !!! If your brother someday has no further use of it, .... (you know the rest) greetings eitze
    13. Hello Claudio, a very nice Kolonialspange with the MEZ 2nd. class Unfortunately his medal is not soo often seen on bars. greetings eitze
    14. @ Rick: Before Waldeck I was completely BLACK @ Paul: As I wrote, the only info known to me is from the Werlich book. I can`t believe that a medal with the illustration of Idi Amin is still awarded in Uganda today !!! For the DVD - here we go: http://www.criterion.com/asp/release.asp?id=153 greetings eitze
    15. And last the Republic of Uganda Medal, also made by Spink & Son. Werlich wrote in his book: "It is believed that this medal will be awarded primarily to those supporters of General Amin, who were imprisoned by former President Obote". Don?t know if this is correct ? By the way - "The last king of Scotland" is a very good film But if you want to see the real Amin, try to get Barbet Schroeder`s film "General Idi Amin Dada - a Self Portrait". I`ve got the DVD and it is great. The filmmusic was by Idi Amin Dada himself After the film was released, Idi Amin threatened to harm 150 French citizen living in Uganda if certain cuts were not made. Schroeder agreed to remove 2 Minutes and 21 Seconds of the film, but once Amin was out of power the cuts were restored! greetings eitze
    16. Second the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
    17. Don`t know much about Idi Amin`s medals, but here is my small Uganda collection. First, as shown above, the Distinguished Service Order. 275 were produced by Spink & Son for the Amin Regime.
    18. I got my catalogues in two batches within the last two weeks. They are not as big as Thies catalogues, but there`s nice stuff on offer. greetings eitze
    19. In the meantime look for the Zeige auction on 22.09.2007 with 3 catalogues !!! greetings eitze
    20. WALDECK For the roll I am in direct contact with Daniel here in Germany. One for me I`m sorry - but no interest in the other states greetings eitze
    21. And here is a certificate for the Kolonial-Denkm?nze, which is not mine, but saved on my PC. greetings eitze
    22. More color -but also without name This bar is a little bit special: the KD is mounted on the wrong ribbon (it is the South-West-Africa ribbon) and reverse to the front greetings eitze
    23. Yesterday 3 German Police Officers were killed and 1 wounded by a roadside bomb on their way through the outskirts of Kabul http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,2739328,00.html In autumn the German Government will decide about a further tour for the German troops in Afghanistan and the Taliban try to change the mind of the German public by increasing killing of Germans. These guys know the way of psychological warfare ! greetings eitze
