    4. Hi Glenn, Thanks! He looks like a Kawelmacher somehow... Appretiate the info. Still cannot figure out how he can be Präsident in a Military unit? Was he Reichswehr or Wehrmacht Generalmajor?
    5. 3 things I do not understand here... Who is the officer and why does he sign off as Präsident? What were German troops doing in Bukarest in late december 1918 Were they somehow involved in the Romanian-Hungarian war? Any help appreciated, Thanks Chris
    6. Hi, I think they have been around for a few years. You need one? :-)
    7. I am guessing the guys wearing the badge without a wound badge were photographed before the intruduction of the wound badge?
    8. Hi, the medals are not his, just loop fillers, I wanted to get the tunic "right"... Here is a write up about 1914... another will eventually follow for 1918... http://www.kaiserscross.com/41815/329201.html
    9. Its the only one I can find.... 1916 on the Somme and at verdun.... cant ask for more!!!
    10. Hi, try starting with the 153rd Division.... https://23rdmanchester.wordpress.com/war-diary/ Use the search function for Magnan Best Chris https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/153e_division_d'infanterie_%28France%29
    11. Hi, Do any polish rolls exist for WW2 and later awards, Would it be possible to check if a guy serving in the French army 39-45 as an NCO could have qualified for any of these? He was not in the polish resistence, just a regular grunt.
    12. For ages I have wondered about the loops for a 3rd Pinback on this tunic..... Now I think I have it? Hawickhorst (from the name) has an extremely strong Oldenburg connection.... From observing other groups, Oldenburg seems to have been pretty liberal in giving them to Oldenburgers in other regiments?
    13. Hi Glenn, thanks, yes indeed, a Medal bar identification would have been a long shot. It Languished on Northern german Dealers site for ages described as "Bavarian Officer".... Until a sharp eyed friend noticed the same photo in the Jäger history. Ironically it is a rarer bar than the same with an EK2 on it :-) Best Chrs
    14. Some time ago a dealer had this large Photo on his site... a friend recognised the picture from the history of the 2nd Jäger, and pointed me in the right direction.... Albert Brendel, commander of the Aschaffenburger Jäger 1900-1903... he died before the war.
    15. Hi, I did not bid on the 2nd one... the flag wiped me out for the year ;-)
    16. Lets face it.... medals are like jewellery for men.... Women take pleasure in Rings, necklaces, etc... men can like beautiful things as well, and I bet in the 20s and 30s a few of them lived this out with nice versions of medals.
    17. Here was its twin.... http://www.ebay.de/itm/WW1-Militaerpass-Wuerttemberg-Orden-OU-GFM-Erwin-Rommel-Westfront-Reims-Champagne-/311483644640?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=NTSO54lilIkmv4YXcjT90%252BEAMSQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
