    6. Hi, A very long shot indeed... I am looking into a man with the comman name "Richard Wolf"... I think he was from Köln, He was an MG officer... born in 1900! But from Photos seens to have been an LT in 1918. Probably badly wounded in the Verdun Area in 1918. Needle in a haystack... but maybe someone knows? Any tips where I should look? Thanks Chris
    7. Hi, Some Corps had Blue for their infantry (for example) but soon all were white? Maybe something along those lines for this board?

    10. Some early war AK had a blue underlay..... seems to be either a very rare unusual item.... or a pretty strange item..... I hope it is the former....

    16. Hi, I think very unlikely, the JvS seems to be from a real Bavarian Landei family, Felix Steiner from East Prussia.
    17. Nice indeed.... I think collecting to a specific unit is one of the most enjoyable parts of WW1 collecting... I have a handful of units I am always looking for as a sideline...
    18. Hi, did SA mint its own stars? Or were they unofficial copies? Surely for the handfull ACE Stars needed in SA it would have been more reasonable to get them from the UK? I have never read anything about SA minting stars of any kind, but may have missed out on something...

    20. Hi, I have bought 2 chin straps for my Jäger Tschako, but both are quite a bit too long... Is there a difference between Steel Helmet Chin starps and Picklehaube/Tschako straps? Thanks Chris
