    3. Maybe a silly question.... but why would a 1st bavarian infantry regt Leutnant wear a field grey litewka? I thought they were for cavalry? Not only that, it is Regt stamped?
    4. It shows a bit of the casualty list... but not the page with my guy !!!!!!!!
    5. Give Tony here on the forum a big smoochy kiss and he may be able to help with the medal card... he found one for me as if by magic ! It can be done online somehow... Once you have that you are laughing....

    8. Hi, does anyone have a pic of the fake? Thanks Chris
    9. I assume a Bronze star with a simple "James H Turner" is a waste of time to try and research? What about one of those WW1 wound docs with the guys name and unit... any chance of finding out where and when he was wounded? Thanks Chris
    10. Hi, Step one is.... Do you have his medal card for WW1? We would need to have his battery number. How exactly is the 1914 star named?

    14. A simple award made in superb quality... Difficult to say with the stamps ...
    15. It is with greeeat pleasure that I present my first WW1 US award which I spent the last day reading up on... Comments welcome... http://www.trenchfighter.com/40312/42469.html
    16. Thanks, that's what I need to know. The Xerox was really bad so I initially thought it was II and took it to be 2nd Battalion, then I saw it was H... and still turned out to be 2nd battalion... so thats good :-)
    17. Yes !!! Yes !!!!!! There is a GMIC project that is pretty long term as all involved have other pots cooking at the moment, it is about Wound badges and KIA items (Death pennies, honour crosses etc. etc....) This is JUST the kind of thing to excite certain people ... Moi included...
    18. In a US WW1 Infantry Regt... where would you find H Company? Would it automatically belong to a certain battalion?
    19. That is one very nice document indeed !!!!! I just finished reading an article about a few hundred men of the 476th Infantry Regiment, they were in a tunnel where the exit was collapsed by a 400mm French shell. Gas got into the tunnel and the men were trapped.... the first lot where taken out in the 1930s, the next lot in the 70s.... terrible death... must have been terrifying moments dying deep in the side of a mountain... http://lced.org/div_04.php
