    1. Hi, That's the guy. I bet it would be a great movie... but I guess Leonardo de Caprio would read for the roll.....
    2. I assume he was photographed with the EK2, later awarded the EK1 then killed. The family then having the photographer add the EK1. Its seen pretty often on WW2 RK winner pics. Best Chris
    3. OK, I was absolutely over the moon to snap this up on ebay.... Who can say what it is and why it is soooo sexy?
    4. I would say... attached to an Christmas cracker? I dont think it is koscher.
    5. Maybe a practiser of animal husbandry has more notion of how to mount horses than he does about how to mount medals?
    6. I am totally in the dark here. If one of our collectors has the WW1, inter war and WW2 kinds... and some time off this weekend.... How about a bit of an "Idiots guide" with pics and short descriptions of the differences? I am sure I would not be the only greatful one....
    7. I think he had 14 citations for the TOE.... I bet you could have made a war film based on his life story ;-)
    8. Is it military? or something diplomatic or state?
    9. Still... maybe they were for a guy who went on to be a WW1 General?
    10. Ohhhhh... woe is me.... If I had known that I would not have shelled out the sheckles... I thought they were WW1.... Damnation.......
    11. Any new thoughts to this belt style? I am always suspicious of the belts with the two lines, especially if it has a WW1 buckle!
    12. About a week ago someone told me that these black aluminium ones could be early war... or post war for SA or NSKK or Reichswehr etc. etc. etc. Anyone know if they were made after the war again?
    13. I am not a pro, but I would suggest WD40ing that Helmet, it would make it way nicer to look at and help a bit with the rust.
    14. I am hoping TomY will say "Oh, those are the 1912 model..." And Rick will say... "In 1912 Von Whatsisname was commander"
    15. Hi, Is there any way to date these? They are extra long, 12cm's.
    16. OK, looking at the 7th Landwehr... the 122 RIR joined in feb 1917. 251 Divisions says they came from the 54th reserve Division... but when you look up the 54th Teserve division... there is no mention of the 122 ever having been there..... The most elusive regt I have found to date !!!
    17. Ruhmeshalle has them in the 1 bavarian Landwehr Division, but that seems to have been the 122 Landwehr I.R. So maybe it was a typo... Anyone know offhand where they served? (i.e. which division?)
    18. I guess I woulda gotten myself ripped off :-( So.... can I send you the 5 packs and bottle?
    19. Well.... spike Milligan was getting birds for a couple of packs of ciggies... Let me go with 5 packets of woodbines and a bottle of cheap wine?
