    1. It looks like there may be a few nice Alpenkorps - Ski Troop pics in there...
    2. Very nice, is the guy in the last photo wearing the oval badge on the right sleeve?
    3. It is never the size of a collection... it is the dedication behind it. I have seen some huge collections, that were nothing more than a big pile of expensive things... and some modest collections that represented lots of time, effort and spirit of the hunt. The "quality" is largely proportional to the passion of the the collector. To put this in proportion, I was lucky enough to get it for just a tad more than what collectors pay for some of the rarer variations of 1914 EK1s ;-)
    4. Fantastic as always!
    5. Hi Hermann, I know the problem ... for some reason the Religion Spalte is sometimes very hard to read, I have also had moments when i have read it and wondered if it was a religion I had never heard of. Some company clerks had a "flair" of their own when it came to handwriting. In the Bavarian Records many soldiers had 2 or 3 pages, sometimes you need all pages as the guy who did the entries on page 1 was hard to read.
    6. These can sometimes be confusing as the unit at the time of the wound is not specified. I have one to a guy in the 16th Bavarian reserve Inf Regiment, wounded at Douaumont (Verdun) in 1916. The Regiment was nowhere near Verdun during the war. Only when i got is records did I see he had transfered to the regiment long after the wound, but the document was issued much later by the 16th.
    7. Hi Hermann, Hats off for the work! I am guessing "Prot" badly written?
    8. Hi, The sewing is thinner, bottom of the pick a bit different etc. But I think they belong "together", or have been together for ever. Once on a uniform you dont see the difference I think
    9. OK, really not something i collect, but when you see something really cool you need to grab it! Also not a matching pair, but together for 100 years...
    10. Here is a selection... notice the cap badge!! I dont know who wore uniform hats? Maybe Fahnenträger?
    11. Anyone want to see the front? Unfortunately it is not a "5" ;-)
    12. Oh wow..... wow... and WOW.... that was indeed an early X-Mas gift.....
    13. Hi, agreed, I have many wound docs, but only have 2 docs with dates. Mattweiss was the official term at the time I think. I do not have a doc with "silver"
    14. Fantastic set! Does enverything belong together?
    15. Thanks, Thats a nice card with the ribbon bar, I will keep an aye open for one of those.
    16. Hi, I think I am on safe ground with Gaßner... but what is the next line? XXX v.D ? or XXX a.D. ? Thanks Chris
    17. This man recieved the EK2 twice!! I assume the Kavellerie Officer is easier, the Abwicklungs amt guy more difficult...
    18. Thanks Guys! Does anyone know if there were any Postcards of Stephano from the Freikorps or SA days? Here is another one, am I right reading a Streifschuss on the left temple? Thanks Chris
