    1. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/11255676/Soldier-sells-Conspicuous-Gallantry-Cross-to-give-family-better-life.html Something like this always starts a Polemic.... but I say "Good for him!" IMHO the right descision....
    2. For some reason the Fangs in the 3rd Pic look pretty dangerous ;-) Very nice piece indeed!
    3. A silly question maybe, but was the Hohenzollern AND the EK2 ribbon worn in the Buttonhole, or just one? Thanks Chris
    4. I am not a big Headgear collector. At Kassel I was sorely tempted by a fantastic Goslar Jäger Tschako, but it was out of my pricerange.... but i did find a really nice bavarian pickelhaube that was affordable, unit stamped, and in great condition... Only thing missing was the spike, but at about the time this one came out, they were often worn without the spike, and inspite of seeing copy spikes in Kassel, i am sure one day an orriginal will turn up....
    5. Hmmmm.... I think the one on the right is OK, not sure about the badge though.... Did you pay a lot? Best Chris
    6. At a history display a few weeks ago I saw recruiting criteria... some units had minimum heights.... and some like Cavalry had maximum heights.... Strangely Jäger had a upper and lower level height. If I remember correctly, over 175cm and you could not become a Jäger... does anyone know why?
    7. Hi, I dont think any were actually made for Medal bars, just soldiers who mounted them on the bar after the war. I think this is what you get when you order a "badge with 2 prongs"..... and what you have is when they write a letter and say "those prongs were garbage, things keep falling off, can you do 3 thin ones....?" I have wanted one of these for years.... now finally!!!
    8. A lot of German, then mixed European, very little or no UK.... About 50% awards then lots of Militaria
    9. Hi, He was alive and listed as Hauptmann A.D. in the Feldartillerie Regiment 15 in November 1918... (when his Hohenzollern cross was awarded)... So I am guessing he must be the one who came by the way of the FAR39...
    10. I am guessing the 3 prong one is a 2nd Version, the first version being the two small prongs on the bottom? An obvious improvement....
    11. I picked up a Karpathenkorps one on a little maker card yesterday, How many accapted variations are there of this badge? Thanks Chris
    12. ... who posted above you in this thread? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=851174358257667
    13. Just got back from Kassel, It was a great show, I managed to sell some items, which pleased the wife, found a few items for myself (although I wish I could have taken more!!), but most importantly was able to meet up and chat with a few other collectors, some for the first time, some once again. Jani Tiainen, Uwe Bretzendorfer and Christian Lehrle shared a corner, Christian runs the Bene Merenti Auktions. Adler 1 was also there ... and I probably spoke to a few more without knowing who was who and vice versa... A nice show, but I did not see a fraction of it, even with a whole day of looking....
    14. Hi, Hauptmann a.D. Wulf Konrad Schwerdtfeger must have had a connection to the Feldartillerie Regiment 15, may have been wounded and invalided out during the war... Any help appretiated :-) Thanks Chris
    15. That's a really nice set! Could you show more detailed pics of the jerkin? Is that a small backpack on the webbing? thanks chris
