    1. She could kick my ass any day of the week.... I wonder what it costs???
    2. aaahhh.... We speak of different things.... I speak of a hardcase serving in North Africa ......
    3. Hi, the gold chain and extra tight pants are a bit over the top.... and there are tattos, and tattoos....
    4. Well... I thought of a Legionnaire... really heroic looking like... with south African accent... killing his way through a dozen badies, using a minigun, and half a dozen scantily clad wommen trying to rip his clothes of and distract him from the business of saving the trainload of orphans in the background. I would like it really tastefully done and it has to fit on the sheath of a WW2 British Spike bayonet......
    5. its really mindblowing... do you do requests as well?
    6. IMHO coins and named medals have nothing in comman. Maybe unnamed awards and items can be "graded" but as soon as there is a definate name on an item, for me the condition takes 5th place.
    7. Just a note to the doc in post 5... I saw a small pile of these on a german show earlier this month, stamped, but with none of the written details. Tha stall owners name I forget, but I think it was Dr. something. I said "Those are copies I guess?" and he looked all insulted... just said "I cannot say... thats how I got them!"... Riiiight ;-)
    8. Hi, there is not a lot than can be said... seems to be locals taking over the quartermaster... I think more of a smile than rolling on the floor joke. Also think it is meant to be GEA and not GSWA as there are more palms there. Also had Askari which they did not in GSWA. Best Chris
    9. I would have bought beer for anyone who could have guessed that ;-)
    10. all he is missing is a nose ring......
    11. I think it relates to her telling me he pinched her and I (was of today so looked after them) told them "If anyone does anything to disturb the peace, you will not have XXX visit to play this morning!!" So he did this and slipped it into the mailbox....
    12. Interesting piece, a classic scene. Many "Hobby artists" copied popular postcards. This is a pretty nice one.
    13. Here is another keeper.... Chantelle Taylor, a medic who is the first british Woman soldier to have killed an enemy in combat. (I assume that excludes pilots?) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2069988/First-female-soldier-kill-combat-Chantelle-Taylor-says-me.html
    14. Can anyone figure out what medals she has? I would bend over backwards to have that bar in my collection.
    15. Hi, here was an article... Seems to have been in the logistics corps, attached 2 para in Northern ireland, also the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan.... some after the article below.... http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/news/s/2036315_we_joined_the_army_because_we_wanted_a_real_job
    16. Could it be that the arctic medal ribbon is in fact just the underlay for a removed QSA ribbon ?
    17. Hi, even if not the award piece, there are plenty of ways soldiers "organise" things... I bet the soldiers at the time did not know the difference, best Chris
    18. This is a very "real" situation in the 90s... the sgt giving the orders... a legionnaire does a "banane" (in this case he has a mobile that rings!!!) and the Cpl giving the Leg. a dressing down.... Its been on you tube for ages... I think it is the most comman "discipline" at section level in the legion... pushups and a bit of slapping around by a Cpl...
    19. I have no idea what language this is.. but the French 110th Infantry regiment has a fantastic song !!
    20. many French units have great marching songs... it is not only a legion thing.... this one is great as well....
    21. Hi Bison, yup, 2 REI, but before my time... this was in 1972. Some of the Legion songs on youtube have been done by a choir and are nowhere near as "good" as when sung by a compagnie... Here is one of my all time favourites.... not only a legion song...
