    1. Hi, the Alpenkorps one has the date A Reich 1917, so it is that late. my earliest one is to an award in 1914! The Alpenkorps did not even exist then ;-) My 1st Jäger regt ones are also Mid 1917 for 1916 awards, The one is a 2. Jäger an EK1, awarded October 1916, doc in 15th July 1917... then a hand written doc from the 2. Jager, issued 2 days later, 17th July 1917 for an award made in November 1914. I dont think Alpenkorps guys got EK docs before mid 1917, just militärpass entrys for the EK. I do have a 10th reserve Jäger doc from August 1916, but no mention of the date of the award....
    2. Here is a nice rare one.... Is it 1st class with crown without swords?
    3. Can anyone give us a lesson in the different makers? I think detailed pics front and back? Andreas?
    4. Perfect! Thanks, it was a happy find then :-)
    5. Does anyone know if winners of the TKM wear more or less assured of a Civil Service Job of some sort? Andreas (Spolei) showed me a photo of a relatives group who also had a 25 year civil service cross. Best Chris
    6. Gruss dich Andreas!!!! Freut mich dass du da bist!
    7. It should not scratch off, it may wear off over time, but if you can scratch it off i would be very weary. A tough call IMHO
    8. This I guess is the standard one, but was never green, it is a period sand color...
    9. Hi Hoss, I think yours and Chip's are two different things? That is really really cool!! Can you do a pic with a soldbuch to see the size?
    10. Interesting that he was in I.R.88 !!! In Hanau... from Breslau... thats a long way.... The 88th is almost one of my local regts...
    11. Agreed... I think Units down to Company level got Blank docs and filled them in as they needed, irrespective of the signature. I saw on Ancestry the record of a man where "Issued Alpenkorps EK certificate" was entered in his record. I would be interested in your opinion on this ;-) http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/53942-why-did-bavarians-have-better-prussian-docs/ Have you seen a Leib regt doc like that before?
    12. And... P.S. Other than the Alpenkorps Vordrück... what is the Earliest issued EK document you have seen to the Alpenkorps? I dont mean award date, but date the document was issued. I have some 1917 dated documents from the 1st bavarian Jäger Regt for 1914 and 1916 awards... but those are my earliest award documents to the Alpenkorps.... Thanks Chris
    13. Hi Rudi, there is a Alpenkorps EK Document that came before the well known A. Reich one. The Reich one appeared in 1917 ... Do you have one of the early ones? Best Chris
    14. Hi Rudi, What I dont understand, is that Krafft von Dellmensingen was on the 1st variation Alpenkorps EK docs (Printed by "Kunst im Druck), then Sonntag.... Then on the later 2nd variation printed by Dietz & Lüchtrath there is with Ritter von Tutscheck, but once again with Krafft von Dellmensingen... the Reihenfolge doesnt work.... ?
    15. This one I am not so sure,,,, Does anyone know the exact dates when these two commanded? Thanks Chris
    16. Hi, there was a website somewhere with the commanders of the units of the Alpenkorps... does anyone know where it was? I am guessing this is von Tutschek
    17. Here is a nice pic... i assume the barrel is recoilling ... and the one guy with a live shell just can't stop horsing around...
    18. I dont know why I bought this, but for some reason i had to have it, and actually paid through my nose... maybe because it was the regt Commanders one.... The 125th Anniversary of the regt, issued in 1916.... and a nice photo of him
