    1. The only conclusion that I can come to is it is a mini for French soldiers who got the MM in WW1? From size, style, ribbon etc iz matches my French Minis....
    2. When it arrived I saw it was uniface and smaller than a regular mini...
    3. I bought this one on German Ebay along with some French Medal odds and ends from the pre WW1 era.. I thought it to be a British mini MM
    4. That is a dream bar.... I wish a really bad case of Herpes on the seller that split the docs from the bar :-(
    5. At the limit a post 45 mounted bar for an Austrian vet? But a very, very, very unlikely set?
    6. Absolutely superb little set. I was looking yesterday... I have about 700 EK docs... just 6-7 are to Minenwerfer. They are very sexy indeed....
    7. Its nice to see fakes without maker marks nailed.. I remember when you could tell fakes because 1) They were bad quality 2) They were good quality and maker marked, but "wrong" for that maker That good quality Non maker marked are being recognised as fakes is great. I remember speaking to what is probably Americas BIGGEST dealer... he said to me "All fakes have makers marks" which left me wondering why clever fakers do not make them without marks...
    8. HI, WW1 crosses dont carry the dates. Best Chris P.S. IMHO the best looking award EVER.
    9. A nice piece. I would have thougght Gordons medal would have had the convex rather than concave back? When was his awarded? Best Chris
    10. Really nice set up... (Is the shirt stamped.... "Woolworths"? ;-)...) An attributed KC? A really, really nice jacket.
    11. Or... the chapplain could be the modest kind who bashfully smiles and refuses and awards... "No earthly rewards needed for saving lives..." etc..... :-)
    12. Aaaaaaaand, the final doc from a seperate auction... 22 days in the heaviest fire as a messanger...
    13. Hi, can anyone tell me what the ODD is and the I under the broadarrow? Thanks Chris
    14. There are the big parades... and the small ones.... Lets see yours....
    15. Hi, while working on a section of the homepage I came across a passage that says that the Generalgouvernement Warschau had sections responsible for training the Polish army and the Polish Legion. I did not know the Germans kept any units of the army active during the occupation (we are talking WW1 here of course). Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks Chris
    16. Nope... but give me a couple of weeks and I can have one whipped up for you ;-)
    17. Whoever he is... its one combat stud.... Would a RK have improved the group or "overdone" it? :-)
    18. Some guys just keep the baby face.... this guy would have looked at 60 like Keith Richards did at 20.... its all in the Genes (and bottle)... ;-)
    19. It must be post Anchluss as he is in a 3rd Reich uniform. He has a HK with swords so he could well have been at the front, or at least "on the ground"... not everyone got the EK or Austrian equiv.
    20. He has a WW1 Ehrenkreuz and a couple more WW1 ribbons. Maybe served on "Gordons boat" ? Best Chris
    21. Nope, pre NATO. Best Chris
    22. Hi, It is the sarajevo clasp. Back then Sarajevo was pretty much the middle point of the mess. From what I understand it was introduced (by the local French Unprofor commander) as a distinction for the troops serving in the city and outskirts. It was on the medal when it was awarded, only when I started collecting medals again did I even begin to wonder why it was there. It is made in the same style as the Medaille Outre Mer bars. Best Chris.
