    2. I find these recycled pieces to be fascinating.... Ed, please let me know when your article has been finished. I'd love to read it.
    3. Saw this Saxon 25 Year Long Service Cross on eBay Germany.... doesn't look right to me. Comments & opinions?
    4. Glad this ended up with you Paul. It's not often one finds a bargain where this came from, but surely it was.
    5. I'd like to say that with all the new garbage showing up you're almost better to be buying worn, used items these days.,..
    6. Someday, I will sneak a camera in and you shall all see the vast cavern full of obscure references, scrolls, piles of notes and transcripts that span the centuries.....
    7. Thanks Claudio... The "Anything Goes" Weimar area can be quite exciting. I've seen some 8-10 place bars that boiled down to a 2X bar when the regs were enforced in 1934! This one was always one of my favorites. I love the enameled "Battle Crosses".
    8. AND! You may not use the open forum as an advertisement for sale You MUST state a price when offering an item for sale in the sales forum (ONLY) Be advised!

    10. Sure, I can tell you I purchased the group from Detlev Niemann, sold it to another member here, who then sold it to Heiko, who then sold it to you!
    11. it was quite refreshing in this day & age of fakes to find not just a real one, but am identifiable one (If you're in good with the gnomes)
    12. I don't remember this being discussed before. If I am being redundent, my apologies. Does anyone have access to archives of service records for Saxons pre-WW2? Or, would these have all been gathered into one master place in WW2? Thanks & pardon my being research-challenged!
    13. Cuurent high bidder is a Turkish Collector/Dealer. 100 Euro+ on both lots. The small enameled bars were the most interesting to me. Does anybody know what they were for?
    14. Well, that's pretty amazing. I thought the price was outrageous at the bid. eBay will take ~1300- Euro from him for fees!
    15. First place: Albert Order 1.kl. with Swords Second Place: Albert Order 2.kl. with Swords Both pieces available loose in Germany at any number of dealers, but expensive. They do turn up on eBay loose from time to time.
    16. I would add that while spectacular... I cannot see this group pushing 1500 GBP. At the price paid, fantastic. But You'd be hard pressed to find this group moving anywhere for double that. Unless one of our "Bottomless Pocket" Russian friends decided he/she had to have it. In any event, a fantastic group and one to be proud of for sure.
