    1. Thanks Elmar for the information. Now the medal is even more interesting for me. I thought that it only was a "Spangenstück" KR Andreas

    5. Hello Gentlemen, I got this cased silver Al Valore Militare medal. The former owner told me, that it was awarded to an german soldier. Is this possible and is it known why the medal has no engraving ?
    8. His "award document" to the silberne Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz von 1870/71. You can see that it is already dated on 06.08.1915.
    9. I think this more or less nails it. If you were lucky enough to get an 2nd EK award before June 1916 you got an EK1, and if you were not, you had to get a clasp first. A bit like airlines raising the bar on frequent flyer miles ;-) Hello Chris, sorry I think You aren´t right. I have a document group with these "Urkunden" His iron cross 2nd class for 1870 with original signature from Loen.
    10. Hello Sascha, but if it is an fürstliches Ritterkreuz von Hohenzollern it´s on the right place. Regards Andreas
    11. Hello Graf, unfortunately I got only the pre 1939 medal bar, his cased Hungarian Order of merit knights cross with swords and two minichains with in germany so called 57er Versions. I´ve shown this things under ma post unknown hungerian order. I think he must been a staff officer and not an unit commander because there is missing a combat badge. You are showing an officer with signature and wearing a third class first grade, but this is not a general I think he is Oberstleutnat or Oberst, I can´t recognize the shoulder boards. Could You pealse show some better scan from the signature and the shoulder boards ?! Regards Andreas
