    1. In theory a repeat award for an 1813 EK2 recipiant serving in the 1870-71 war, not likely.
    2. There is a lengthy MG badge thread some where on the forum. You should add this one to it. and can we see the reverse?
    3. I'd love to read a day by day synopsis.
    4. I think that while they are still up for sale you should ask privately for opinions.
    5. I seem to remember a discussion about a PKO with the Red Cross device mounted on it a while back. If I remember correctly the discussion went that the device was bad. For some reason this red cross on the award above reminds me of that but I cannot find the thread.
    6. Well, it had to happen sooner or later. http://cgi.ebay.de/Preussen-1870-Kreuz-fue...A1%7C240%3A1318
    7. on an item with pics like this? http://cgi.ebay.de/Preussische-Kaempferspa...A1%7C240%3A1308 Not to mention who is selling it either.
    8. Thanks Andreas. I can read the first three awards, but what are the rest? Is the 5th one the Hindy Cross for Front fighters? And what was he awrded in 1943? thanks From Rick (the good one) 1) Golden Military Merit Cross 2) Iron Cross 1st 3) Iron Cross 2nd 4) Hessian Bravery Medal 5) Honor Cross for Combatants 6) "Ehrenurkunde" (your guess here would be as good as mine ) 7) in 3 lines with award date-- War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords 20.04.43
    9. Actually, I think someone, either the recipiant or his family added his last award to the bar vice getting a new one made.
    10. Yes, the Occupation medal goes black to the heart. (toward the right)
    11. I would think every soldier would have his awards mounted and ready for wear. I'm sure on special days medal bars would be required for wear.
    12. Into a ditch with crass attacks like this. Definately not in the spirit of the forum.
