    1. ¥ 1,456,789 but reserve not met.
    2. So it's a good buy? Actually I think we should be grateful for these fakes because we do not want the same situation as with soviet and third Reich stuff here!
    3. Thanks. Well, if that would be the hammer price I'd take it
    4. Hmm $12.500 and one hour to go...
    5. Yes, I saw this one two. Not in best condition though. It will be interesting to see what the final bid will be.
    6. The Beamte medal is rather a propaganda piece than an award for achievements. Therefore it has this giant black enameled swastika which is even bigger than the one on the KC. It says "that dude's ass is property of the Reich!" or from the perspective of the wearer "I'm proud to serve the German state" or just "more bling bling". That's also the reason why there is no '57 version of this award.
    7. Yes, exactly. These fakes appeared some time ago at the market. The quality is not too bad but the design of the star is very different to the original ones. These type of fake also appears with red enamel to copy the early legion type. Weitze fell for it or at least he had one of these fakes for sale priced at 850€. I don't know if he sold it or found out that it was a fake and removed it from his site.
    8. This case was quite strange. While the most part of it was in a bright red color the lid had a dark almost brownish hue as it should be. Has anyone seen such a type?
    9. Yep, somebody really wanted it. And that somebody would be me Sure it was costly but it's the lowest number known so I went for it. Actually, I hoped it would sell for less but as you say I had to have it I will show better pics as soon as it arrives.
    10. Here we go! As you can easily determine by the watermark this piece was sold by the auction house "Знакъ" some time ago. Description: "Made of silver and green enamel. Diameter: 34,7 mm Weight: 19,07 gr Manufactured by the workshop E. Thielemans and marked "ET". It is the only piece offered within the last 25 years and the second specimen that is known to be in a private hands" The final price was 7.500.000 ruble or at today's rate ~ $240.000.
    11. So we know that a third class existed that had the shape of a medal. But we have only this two little pics from the book. It's time to change this!
    12. Those daggers are called kindjals. They're the Cossack's traditional daggers. Sorry, that's all I can say
    13. Yes, in many countries it is illegal to wear orders and decorations that you have not received. It is not important in what country you wear the decoration but from which country it originates. If you would wear a medal of honor that you haven't received by the congress in France you would still commit a crime. As long as you don't enter the USA it doesn't matter. But at the entry you could be arrested. But there are exceptions for example if the state in general doesn't exist anymore (for example the soviet union) or if the state has abolished the order. Then it can be legally worn by anyone since it becomes only a piece of metal. In any case it is very tasteless and disrespectful to do so.
    14. Can't help you with such a list but I really would like to see pictures of the award. Maybe you want to show us?
    15. Yeah well it would be if you would actually get something. I asked the seller if I could pay in person but to this day I got no response. But there was a 3rd class set offered by a seller in Japan for $3000 - not sold.
    16. Try to file a complaint at your local police department in the US if your new catch from Ukraine didn't arrive. They'll have a good laugh. Ah and look he doesn't accept paypal if it's over 500$...
    17. Ah you saw it . And if it wasn't enough it is an eastern European seller. Well, I really hope that it won't go to high up. By the way I wouldn't buy it either if I had no contact there that can take it personally. Thank you for your help.
