    1. Great photo! Do you have more information about the man, his service and how he earned his MEZ1?
    2. Nice documents, especially as an EK1 to an EM was rather uncommon. Do you know more about the guy?
    3. Thanks for showing this really interesting group! He had an impressive array of medals for this tragically short term of service! .... makes one wonder, what he would have also gotten, if he had survived the war and further rendered such extraordinary service?!?
    4. Nice documents!! Those recommendation documents are always great, if possible to acquire, shedding light on the actions which earned them their Eiserne Kreuze!
    5. Very nice medalbar! Interesting that he, even as an old guy, not only added his 1913 NCO Long Service Cross but also his War Aid Cross to his medalbar. Do you have any more Details about his life, e.g. birth, death, military service?
    6. Thanks for the very quick reply!!! It´s amazing what´s researchable today!! Rittmeister Reschke got his LD2 in march 1913 and an EK2 on 13.11.1914. He fought at Tannenberg and other major battles on the eastern front until the end of 1915. Then some rear area service (no specific information) and was released from military service in march 1919. From 1940 to 1942 he served with different POW camps.
    7. Johann Heinrich Reschke was born on 24.02.1881 in Sperlings Ostpreußen and served as a One Year Volunteer from 01.10.1900 till 30.09.1901 with 5./ Dragoner Regiment 1. He was promoted to Leutnant d.R. on 22.11.1902, Oberleutnant d.R. on 19.12.1911 and Rittmeister d.R. on 24.12.1914. Is it possible to answer the question with which units he served before the war (after his one year volunteer service) and during WWI? Also any other info would be highly regarded!!
    8. Thankyou very much! Most of the LD1 I´ve seen were on medal bars accompanied by at least a KO4 and / or a RAO4, so I thought the single medal bar was rather unusual. I paid 50EUR for my LD1, was this a fair price? Most dealer´s websites in Germany sell them for around 100EUR, which seems rather high in my humble opinion.
    9. A few days ago I bought this Landwehr Long Service Cross and now would like to assure, that it is a contemporary piece. I would be glad, if anybody could provide his opinion on this cross!! Another question: A single medal bar with only a 20 years Landwehr Dienstauszeichnung would normally denote somebody in the private sector, not an official with a chance on a KO4 or RAO4 or something more prestigious??? Many thanks in advance!!
    10. Interesting article, thanks for posting! The fighting in Deutsch-Ostafrika always fascinated me!!
    11. This is an astonishing group! I was always sure that, at least for the colonies, some women must´ve been eligible for the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer, but this is the first time I see an Award document. Do you have any other Information about her life, Leutwein?
    12. Quite extraordinary grouping regarding his awards and his death! I really wonder, why he shot himself? It would be interesting to know how he supported the Selbstschutz Schlesien to be awarded the Schlesischen Adler!
    13. Never seen a Schlesischer Adler awarded to a woman! Must´ve been quite scarce!!
    14. I know that prussian Landgendarmen Wachtmeister and Oberwachtmeister were armed with Reichsrevolver 83, Dreyse 07 pistols in 9mm (at least partially from 1912 onwards) and Karabiner 88 after 1900. But does anybody have any more specific information about the armament with exact numbers and other equipment between 1908 and 1914?
    15. This is a really impressive bar, I especially like the combination of all three Hanseatenkreuze!!!
    16. I have the Deutsches Kolonialblatt from 1918 as pdf, the last issue of that year was from Dec. 25th 1918. Is it somehow possible to obtain the other issues as pdf?
