    1. Here's some core details for a Steinhauer I have on file....
    2. I dunno Rick, your posts have a certain poetic vibe. Veritable Seamus Heaney when you get dug into the dusty books! I'll get some scans done in the next few days and get them on here.
    3. The corners of the beading have a Souval look about them, but I believe that another maker has a similar feature. Just combing my archive of photo's see what I can find.
    4. Hello Chaps, I have a diary containing what appears to be poems, stories and similar pieces written in old German. It appears to be written by someone well educated. I'm told that the quality of the writing suggests a well educated man. I don't have a scanner so can't post any pages at the moment but I would love to get it translated. The titles of the pieces are all I can decipher and are really intriguing me, for example. Das Eiserne Kreuz! Das Kleine Gluck. Das Leid Der Deutschen Frau. Die Bayrischen Lowen. (only hint I can get of the author's possible origin.) 500m Vor? Fiend. This has a subtitle possibly Reims and the date 29.11.14. This is clearly a poem as the title is repeated at the end of each paragraph. Der Verwundete Krieger. There are about 100 pages of this, consisting of several pieces some short some quite long, ending abruptly in 1915 (although one title is Winter 1914/15/16/17.) The spelling mistakes are probably my cack-handed effort at reading the titles. Does anyone know how I can get these translated. It would be great if it was a lost gem! I've tried the local universities but they tell me that reading the old script is a problem for their language departments. Thanks Chaps, Glenn.
    5. Another fine cross Micha. I've only ever seen one of these before. Very interesting.
    6. I know what you mean Dave, often the finish tends to lift slightly and leave quite characteristic "veins" running across the core.
    7. Oh well nabbed Stogie. Joe that is a fabulous cross. Appeals to my enamel and EK fetishes all in one hit.
    8. That's a very nice example. Typical maker mark and pin set up. I find these to be a finely made cross and quite delicate in appearance in comparison to some makers.
    9. A finely made cross. Very noticeably rounded corners. Lovely
    10. Fabulous Tom. Both stand out of the ordinary run of the mill.
    11. Is the idea of these crosses being designed to attach to a cuirasse speculation Brian or does anyone have any reference to this being the case. This has often intrigued me. Thanks, Glenn,
    12. I tend to agree Chris. We all do it from time to time, buy a gadget that catches the eye and appeals to us even though it costs twice as much as the cheaper option that does exactly the same job. I'm quite glad they made them though cause I love 'em!
    13. Lovely crosses Dave. My favourites..K&Q 1939 and Godet/Wagner/SY&Wagner 1914's Truth is they all do my head in, just neeed to own them all
    14. Beautiful. One of the mintiest ones of the stash.
    15. That's a very nice piece. Superb quality and excellent markings. I love to see imperial silver markings like that. It would look much better filling the gap in my collection though!
    16. Nice find Micha, is the safety catch mechanism intact?
    17. Gentlemen, this debate appears to be getting a little heated. Let's bring it back to the subject. This forum is not the place for disputes.
