    3. Here is what the current USMC WO1 insignia looks like. It is scarlet and gold. Scarlet is a popular color for the Marines. The Army has varying shades of brown, some are beautifully enameled.
    4. Actually it looks to be US Army W01 (worn between 1956 and 1972) It was most likely worn on the collar. The USMC colors are scarlet instead of brown. Here's a pic of the metal version.
    5. I thought I recognized that one, but had doubts Great bars !!
    6. These were worn by the Observers / Monitors in the 1945-46 Greek elections. The top tab denotes the UK. The US and France were involved as well. An interesting piece of not well known history.
    7. Wow ! I've only seen a line drawing (hand colored) (in an old book) of that before !!
    8. Lots of fake ribbon bars to be had by the unwary . Yours looks like a good one. The China Medal on there is interesting. Here's a couple of mine. Notice one is faded (like yours) the other is not.
    9. If this helps From the Book Ribbons of Orders, Decorations, and Medals by Guido Rosignoli 1976
    10. Not confused a bit. He died before the qualifying dates. Obviously on there in error. Whoever put the bar together (family) didn't know the regs and (maybe) assumed it was OK.
    11. Hey !!! I've got one of those thingys On an odd bar to say the least (it is period but 'wrong')
    12. If I'm not mistaken that shoulder patch is for the 5th Panzer Division.

    14. I've still been looking. The only ROTC, JROTC, Cadet Corps . . .etc ribbon it comes close to is The General Billy (???) Mitchell Award that is given out by the Civil Air Patrol to cadets. It was instituted in 1964 It's about half way down the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awards_and_de...ivil_Air_Patrol

    18. A simplisticly designed ribbon as well. So far only Brazil, Denmark, and Japan have similiar designs. Most ribbons with two central white stripes like this have a contrasting color inbetween. I'm still looking though.
    19. Smashing poster I would love to have that on my wall.
    20. It could be The US Presidential Medal of Merit, at least the ribbon colors are the same. Look here : http://www.answers.com/topic/presidential-medal-for-merit Here's a pic of the medal just in case
