    1. I believe that it belongs to a Veterans Organization. VFW if I'm not mistaken, their Bronze Citizenship Medal. As Ricky posted the center should be yellow, a number I've seen have faded.
    2. And I thought it had to do with Stogie's avatar and signature line.
    3. Shoulda kept the original design . . . kind of a 'in your face' . . . but I guess PC people were back then as well It was a NG Division out of Oklahoma Bill Mauldin (of Willie and Joe fame) was part of the 45th
    4. Interesting !! The swaz patch was worn from 11 Aug 1924 to 22 May 1939
    5. Got him !! Ambassador to Tokyo Stahmer It doesn't say what year I knew I'd seen that mug somewhere Courtesy of - In the Service of the Reich by JR Angolia
    6. Not Navy. A Diplomatic or Government Official. Looks to be aa Official High Career Grade i.e. 3 8-pointed stars --Dang...the kid got there before me--
    7. I had a feeling it was that but couldn't find a picture for confirmation.
    8. What an interesting group On the large medal bar, second from the end (also in pic #2) is the 'Benemerenti' Medal awarded by the Pope. The 'Benemerenti' is awarded to lay men (later to women) who distinguished themselves by special services to either the Pontiff, or to the Catholic church. They are awarded only once a year and are rarely seen. This one was bestowed by Pope Piux X (1903 to 1914). For each pontiff there is a separate designed medal and ribbon. It is perfectly in line with the St Johns awards. The other awards have a religious bent to them but I am unable to pin them down. I'll still keep looking because the last medal on the large bar looks familiar.
    9. It could be a matter of the dye used.. If it is an EK2 I would have expected the red to have faded along with the black.
    10. Since the link won't work here is a picture of the ribbon in question. The one on the far right.
    11. Dumb questions . . . Shouldn't the KVK be after the EK2 instead of the Eastern Front? The last one looks to be the Bulgarian Medal of Valor - a WW1 award? I could very well be wrong
    12. It's Rumanian - The Star of Rumania The edges have faded. Look here - top right I knew I'd seen the ribbon somewhere.
    13. This is one of a number of unofficial (lay) orders related to the catholic church. Look at this site Link
    14. The only reason to buy it (as low as possible price) is to show others what NOT to do. The bar in it's original form would be smashing.
    15. Did the seller polish and rehang them? I would expect the Centennial after the Bavarian.
    16. Looking Good !! I have to admit that the Aussie awards are growing on me as well. With the exception of yourself they are little seen. My only Australian medal reference (besides the internet) is The National Honors & Awards of Australia by M Maton, which is a good 'general' starting point. Since its printing in 1995 I have had to make several updates.
    17. Welcome to Imperial Mania . . . er collecting, and a new language ! The metallic backing in the long bar is called a TAB BACK (you can see the tabs for attachment), not usually seen on a bar of more than four. This one being longer having 6. It would have been a weight issue on a uniform. Saggy bars especially on a 60+ year old.
    18. I eat at In-N-Out at least twice a week !!! The only one I had to look up (wasn't sure) was the Armed Forces Service that being 'sorta' new. Nice rack !!!

    20. The KT consists of the Sovereign and 16 Knights. The last KP holder died in 1974.
    21. Not a buckle collector either, but had heard of the various accounts. A very good read !
