    1. Not sure that I would agree with that Paul. Everything is useful and podzun did reproduce some very worthwhile stuff including the 38/39 Stellenbesetzung and the 1944 Dienstaltersliste T & S. Regards Glenn
    2. Chip, as I understand the regulations, the Offizierstellvertreter should have worn the insignia of a Vizefeldwel. However it would seem that often an individual appointed as an Offizierstellvertreter from the rank of Etatsm??iger Feldwebel would have been reluctant to remove the distinguishing badges of his more original senior rank. Regards Glenn
    3. Jeff, I was just thinking the other day that the only big gap left is between 1934 and 1937. This covers it pretty well! Regards Glenn
    4. Jeff, the only Schruff in the Prussian Army was one Anton Rudolf Schruff, an Hauptmann on the staff of Badisches Fu?artillerie-Regiment Nr. 14 in 1914 and then the Artillerie-Offizier vom Platz at Coblenz. Promoted to Major on 27.1.15 and eventually commander of Reserve-Fu?artillerie-Regiment Nr. 15. presumably your man? Regards Glenn
    5. Don, Rick, well one could certainly be forgiven for thinking that lots of these officers never served in the Reichsheer. The backdating of seniority it would appear could amount to several years as I have just discovered whilst going through the Milit?r-Wochenbl?tter of the mid twenties. Oberfeuerwerker Hartlm?ller was actually commissioned as a Leutnant beim Zeugamt on 1.4.1926 whilst serving on the staff of Truppen?bungsplatz Grafenw?hr with a simultaneous assignment to the Ordnance Office in Kassel. So in his particular case he immediately racked up six years seniority. He was promoted to Oberleutnant (W) on 1.4.29 and again had his seniority backdated three years. Compensation for all the years spent as NCOs. Regards Glenn
    6. Actually chaps, he was a Reichsheer officer. Leutnant (W): 1.4.20 (8) Oberleutnant (W): 1.3.26 (5a) Hauptmann (W): Sometime after 1 April 1934 Major (W): 1.4.37 (15) His last peacetime assignment was as the commander of the Army Munition Depot at J?terbog. I will have to do some checking as he is not in the 1924 Rangliste. Presumably commissioned in the mid twenties with backdated seniority. Regards Glenn
    7. Jeff, the Baron was the final commander of the Garde-K?rassier-Regiment. He spent the vast majority of his career serving with K?rassier-Regiment von Driesen (Westf?l.) Nr. 4. He served in China with the Ostasiatisches Reiter-Regiment. Commanded the Garde-K?rassier-Regiment from 1 December 1918 to April 1919. Sekonde-Lieutenant: 11.11.93 Oberleutnant: 11.9.03 J Rittmeister: ernannt 18.10.08, Patent of 10.9.10 L5l Major: 25.11.16 L3l Regards Glenn
    8. Hi H, that is char. Oberst Kurt v. Kl?fer, born 1 Oct 1869 in M?nster, died 19 Oct 1941 in M?nster. Awarded the OPLM on 21 April 1918 as regimental commander of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 452 for his leadership in the March 1918 offensive. Retired as a Polizei Oberst in 1926 and was awarded a "Tannenberg" promotion to char. Oberst (army) on 27 Aug 1939. Regards Glenn
    9. I never forget a name. Oberst Habersang's promotion to Oberstleutnant as listed in the 1 May 1941 Dienstaltersliste AI. 1.2.40 (34) Regards Glenn
    10. Gentlemen, I am now in a position to offer to those interested a copy of the Luftwaffe A2 List. The List is broken down into five parts as per the original bound lists: Name Index Colonels/Lieutenant Colonels Majors/Captains Lieutenants 2nd Lieutenants In total 1195 pages I am asking ?40,00 including postage . Please pop me a PM if interested. Regards Glenn
    11. Chris, I am not certain as I have seen nothing in writing to confirm the fact, but I think most probably those former (E) type officers and officers unfit for front employment in home area positions similar to DAL S in the Army. Regards Glenn
    12. Chris, looking again at the introduction to DAL A1. If I understand it correctly then those listed were those Generals, General Staff Officers and flying/parachute officers who were holders of an aircrew certificate and flight pay. That being the case I think DAL A2 contains all other active officers? Regards Glenn
    13. Stefan It belonged to the Ausbildungsbataillon. See you next mont Beste Gr??e Glenn
    14. Rick, Heinrich Ritter und Edler von Kienle was commissioned into 9. Infanterie-Regiment Wrede on 27.2.1896. Born in 1875 he was promoted to Portepee-F?hnrich on 5.2.95. He retired on 19 February 1899 with a view to an appointment in the civil service. Very much looks like Henn was a classmate with the same commission date. Regards Glenn
    15. This page from DAL AI of 1 May 1941 shows his 1 April 1940 (24) promotion to Major. It is clear from this that he had transfered from (E) back to regular status. Regards Glenn
    16. Stefan, Alfred Stadler is listed in DAL A 1 May 1942 as an Oberstleutnant. However the list shows his last peacetime assignment. He is shown in the 3 Jan 1939 Stellenbesetzung as an Hauptmann (E) and company commander of 2 (E)/I.R. 9. He was born on 25 November 1898 at Plauen/Vogtland.
    17. And another secret prewar edition - the 1 April 1934 Stellenbesetzung of which I have a bound photocopy.
    18. I have also come across the the DAL AI of 1 May 1941 (regular officers General through Lieutenants). I have in my possession photocopies of the pages containing the field officers. I assume I did this before I acquired my book scanner. Must look out for this one again. This from the title page. Regards Glenn
    19. The cover page of Dienstalterliste T of 1 May 1944 for the rank of Oberleutnant. Although Dienstaltersliste T & S for May 1944 was published as a reprint it only covered the General and field officers and not captain and subaltern officers.
    20. This is the cover page of Dienstaltersliste B from May 1940 which lists Offiziere z.D including medical and veterinary officers z.D.
    21. Continuing with the theme. This the cove rpage of Dienstaltersliste A of May 1942. Again regular officers and the precursor to both Dienstalterlsisten I and then S & T. This particular list only contained General officers through captains.
    22. And finally ordnance officers (Offiziere W). This page showing lieutenant colonels. Rick, I will get the list you shortly. Regards Glenn
    23. Rick, You know better than to ask that question. No, afraid not, although certainly the docs and vets would not be a big indexing task. The list of lines officers alone though runs to 808 pages. Regards Glenn
