    1. Walter Richard Heinrich Maximilian. He retired from reserve service on 23 May 1911. So presumably if serving in WW1 would have had the rank of Oblt. d.R.a.D or Hptm. d.R.a.D and not Hptm. d.L. Regards Glenn
    2. I have only encountered one officer of that name and he is indeed Frerich Theodor Schnuis; Leutnant d.R. (11.11.16) in Reserve-Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 17. Regards Glenn
    3. Leutnant der Landwehr Infanterie 1. Aufgeb. (1st levy) on 11 January 1918 (Landwehr-Bezirk Bremerhaven). Regards Glenn
    4. Hi Matt, it is not as clear cut as that. There are at least two possibilities: Hptm. d.L. (20.10.14) Wilhelm Mau of 1. Garde-Grenadier-Landwehr-Regiment or more likely: Hptm. d.R. (6.5.18) Willy Mau of Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 89 (serving with Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 175) Regards Glenn
    5. The Militär-Wochenblatt (43/1931) gives his date of death as 17 November 1930 at Koselwitz, Kreis Rosenberg, Oberschlesien. Regards Glenn
    6. Here is a nice shot of Hauptmann Rohr from the Huis Doorn collection. An extract of a larger group taken on the occasion of a visit by the Crown Prince to Sturm-Bataillon Nr. 5 at Beauveille on 12 May 1917. Regards Glenn
    7. David, from the Offizier-Stammliste of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 21. He died on 14 June 1913 in Charlottenburg. Regards Glenn
    8. Hi Claudio, Andreas is correct; FAR 44: Oberleutnant Gerd Huppertz. You will find him listed as such in the 1907 Rangliste. Regards Glenn
    9. Morning David, as far as I am aware a detailed Offizier-Stammliste does not exist for Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 14. However something of his career can be pieced together from the regimental history of 1900 and the Militär-Wochenblatt. His Rufname was Friedrich. He is shown as having entered IR 14 on 31 May 1816 already in the rank of Kapitän from the 6. Westfälisches Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment. At this point he was above the establishment or supernumerary (aggregiert) as a 21 January 1817 entry in the Militär-Wochenblatt shows he was "einrangiert" or placed on the establishment of the regiment and he seems to have commanded the 2nd company for numerous years. His name is spelt as Weißhun in the 1817 Prussian Rangliste. He was promoted to Major on 19 August 1834 (commander of II./IR 14) and died in service on 24 January 1841. His sole decoration shown in the 1840 Rangliste was the officers' long service decoration. Regards Glenn
    10. I am aware of the writing on the back. But as I said in my earlier post: Anyway, it seems the Berlin adressbuch got his first name wrong. The later Generalmajor Jochmus was Philipp Friedrich Wilhelm August. Regards Glenn
    11. He wears the uniform of a Prussian General Staff (or possibly War Ministry) Major. If one assumes that the photograph is taken around 1900/01 (the date of the last award on the rear of the card, I can offer just one suspect. Notwithstanding the later ballpoint annotations on the rear, I can find just one General Staff Major in 1901 with this combination of awards; Major Otto Jochmus à la suite to the General Staff and an instructor at the War Academy. Regards Glenn
    12. Hi Karlo, I don't think he is Wilhelm von Haxthausen. That leaves Hubert von Rebeur-Paschwitz and Theoder Eschenburg. On balance, I would tend towards Admiral Eschenburg. Nikolaus Graf zu Dohna-Schlodien did perform duty as a Flügel-Adjutant during the Kaiser's exile but number 2 does not appear to be him. Freiherr von Paleske seems more likely. Regards Glenn
    13. It is Hermann Ziegert. Charakter als Oberstleutnant on 13 August 1921 with permission to wear the uniform of Fußartillerie-Regiment Nr. 6. Regards Glenn
    14. Andreas, Werner Schön was commissioned into Westfälisches Pionier-Bataillon Nr. 7. Sekonde-Lieutenant (18.10.97). Regards Glenn
    15. Hi Andreas, he entered the army on 15 September 1864 in the Württemberg field artillery. 13.3.68: Lieutenant (Patent of 21.4.66) 20.7.70: Oberlieutenant/Premier-Lieutenant 22.5.76: Hauptmann 18.8.88: Major 20.6.89: Oberst-Lieutenant 18.10.91: Oberst 27.1.96: Generalmajor The badge is the commemoration badge to King Karl, 1891 (Erinnerungszeichen an König Karl). Regards Glenn
    16. Hi Andreas, 21.6.58: Eintritt in die Marine als Cadettaspirant 13.10.58 (D): Cadett 25.9.60 (A): See-Cadett 30.7.64: Unterlieutenant zur See à la suite 28.8.65: Patent als Unterlieutenant zur See mit RDA vom 18.7.64 (A) 29.8.66 (B) Lieutenant zur See Regards Glenn
    17. Andreas, some further details: 1.4.25: Oberregierungsrat 1.6.29: Ministerialrat 6.10.36: Korpsintendant (XI. Armee-Korps) 1.7.42 (3): Generalstabsintendant (Beamter) 5.44.: Generalstabsintendant (Offizier) RDA of 1.10.41 (5) Regards Glenn
    18. Charakter as a Major d.R. a.D. and permission to wear his former uniform on 28 February 1921. Regards Glenn
    19. Morning Andreas, He was originally an active Saxon field artillery officer. In 1914 he was attached to the Intendantur of the XII. Armeekorps. Regards Glenn
    20. Andreas, these are his "final" orders as given in Kleist's "Die Generale der königlich Preußischen Armee 1840-1890". As usual, medals are not listed. Regards Glenn
