I have been following this thread with interest and wanted to commend Rick and Christophe for their research skills. Both of you are exceptional resources for this forum. Thanks!
Joe, congratulations! No matter what goes in the tail gunner position it is lovely bar in crisp condition. As Herr Research has already noted, a "Wunder bar."
Paul, I won't name the seller but you can probably guess. A gentlemen whose integrity and credentials are impeccable. Unlike you or me he is fallible as this thread indicates. He is not nearly the rake, rogue and scoundrel I make him out to be although I'm not so sure about his evil twin...
I'm inspired to go dig out my double scroll jumbo that I purchased over 20 years ago. It was then one of the better reproductions since few of us can expect to own a real one...I'm off to go through boxes.
Chip, the party from whom I purchased the bar is going to make it right with the correct medal. The REK will be his to dispose of. If you wish PM me and I will put you in touch with him and you both can work out the details.
Very nice work, Gordon! How do you keep them dusted, soft bristle brush or canned air? Don't tell me your bride dusts them because that one won't sell...
Well shucks! Thought I had a trophy there. Thanks Heiko. But let me be the the Devil's advocate for a moment and pose a couple of questions. Where are the fake Kamerun 1884 bars? I haven't noticed a lot on US Ebay maybe they appear on Ebay Germany. No point in faking a few so I wonder where they rest are? I'm curious ...do you have an example of a fake Kamerun 1884 bar? Anybody?
