    1. It is military but doesn't really fits a category! Perhaps a Viollet le Duc... I love the top part as a object! With the handle it looks like a obvious fake....
    2. I found the cargo steamer, with the help of French friends!
    3. Hey Mervyn, I liked your remark regarding the French and English globes!! I have a stand left some where, that is the reason I bought it, but honestly, I did know about the damage on the south pole, they didn't mentioned it! We will see! ;-)
    4. hey Mervin, glad you like it! I doubt the pastoral scene would be Dutch when seeing the mountain/ hill in the back. Holland is rather flat. I also doubt the figures are original to the scene! Some old restoration with a different paint shows also. I think the figures were ad, maybe by someone else. The reason it was included in the lot is a mystery, but I am glad they did! Yes, the second one is what it was about to me. I do have a small collection of old travel company's. The stern flag is English indeed, for the company flag I was thinking of Waverly's company, but that doesn't match with the colors on the chimney.The Indo-China Steam Navigation Compagny, makes more sense, But then again there seem to be a figure in the center of the company pennant... Both came from a auction in the middle of France, but that doesn't give much clue's about their origins.
    5. Hey spasm, no signatures (so far!), or details from the auction house. They are genuine old paintings, yes. Working on the identification of the ship for the moment. cheers |<ris
    6. from the same place as the globes, I got these two paintings. In fact only one was mentioned and showed in the catalog, the other one came with the same lot, but was not photographed. But I do like it even more then the marine.
    7. Some more globes (in need of restoration!), from France, got in today; first one is only 20 cm high, the other 25 cm Ø

    10. Ain't got any enamel at the moment, got some painted on glass and decal on glass;
    11. Don't know if I showed it all ready!? Forgive me if I did. But here is a link to a virtual friend of mine. Most of the parts you get to see on the first pic come from me. cheers |<ris http://www.alain-bellino.net/
    12. Hey Werner, thanks for the reply! What important to me is that it is a genuine medal with his clasp, meaning; not a upgraded example. Hard to know when seeing one, but this one was found in a house clearing, so that makes it ok to me. cheers |<ris
    13. Hey Dave, thanks again! I did indeed saw a (what I think to be.......!) French one sold for 500€ during my research. Well I 'll see what I do when I get there, it will also depend on what the other medals look like the guy is selling, and the money left in the wallet!! cheers |<ris
    14. Not such a exceptional medal, just fun to collect them. There are like more then 30 different clasps, here is my first; the German campaign.
    15. Hey Dave, thanks for your answer, but like i stated; only have that one pic.... But already decided to pass on it.I am going to wait for a French one. cheers |<ris
    16. Interesting indeed, love to know more ... cheers |<ris
    17. hello, I was offered a small collection of medals, just don't know anything about them. This medal is one of the lot I only got this one pic. It looks rather cheaply made to me!? Any opinions are welcome.
    18. Not in it too! But your themes seems interesting! Would love to see them. cheers |<ris
    19. Good catch, TacHel! Love it.
    20. Good to see you here Werner! I was at you place a few weeks ago to collect the Congo stamp! We talked about this medal....still on my list! cheers |<ris
    21. Just got it in! Measuring 8 by 8 cm. Here is how it looked like in real live;
    22. A great website! The uniform on pic # 9 at http://www.militarysunhelmets.com/2013/the-original-camouflage-khaki-part-v-khaki-in-colonial-africa-and-the-middle-east was part of my collection, once...! cheers |<ris
