Soviet Glory-2 Group
Gerd Becker replied to Chuck In Oregon's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
To me too. It looks, like the Owner may have replated the center of the Glory 2nd class. The wear of the gilt doesn?t fit to the patina of the rest IMO. -

Soviet Ushakov 2nd Class For Sale
Gerd Becker replied to slava1stclass's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Its useful to post the pictures of the Ushakov, as this thread won?t have any relevance anymore, once its sold. Here are the pics: -
Great story, Mike. Its good, that he knows, someone is actually interested and cares for his goodies. Please Let him know, that there are still (also younger) germans out there, who appreciate, that these men risked their life for freedom. all the best, Gerd

Soviet My first ORB
Gerd Becker replied to Riley1965's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
It has been shortened for easier wear. The screwpost is often very pointy and stung at times, i guess. -

I agree completely, Ed. Ok, i am not collecting soviet stuff for very long, but i have yet to seen a "boring" citation for a screwback-ORB. This number should date around October 1942, btw. -

I love it, Bryan . That one screams for research -
Thats just a misunderstanding, Bryan. Rick said, he got a Badge of Honor, but not in the wave of awards in 1966/67, but only in 1971. Darrel, fantastic stuff all around. Love the documented Partisan-Medals Thanks for sharing

Tom, i have had a Police Medalbar (with 25 years service cross), which came directly from the vet and that one also did not have the embroidery on the ribbon. Gerd

Soviet Can anyone identify this star?
Gerd Becker replied to andy's topic in USSR: Soviet: Other Militaria
Thats a yugoslavian cap-star, Andy. best, Gerd -
Rick, i really enjoy it too very much. I can?t believe, i haven?t started immediately with Soviet Stuff and would have skipped the Mini-Collecting Altough, they were nice too.

Well, thats great. I wasn?t aware, that this is such a special case. Any idea, how many soviets were "on vacation" in Korea? And how did this work usually? Were any of them openly there or where they all kind of "undercover"? So, if i speculate, this guy was a Radio-Specialist or something similar and went to Korea to train Korean Soldiers on radios or whatever!? They were only Advisors, right? Do you can see, when he was drafted? The unnumbered MMM is (a little delayed) for Long-Service, right? Should i try to get both citations for the MMM?s though? Thanks, man

I would agree with Jan on this one. Looks like blue to me.
