    2. Hi Christer, Very nice ribbon bar you have bought, congrats You are right about one point, it is not usual to find ribbon bar with three hanseatic ribbons. I will look through the Reichswehr Ranglisten to see if I have a candidate Christophe
    3. Hi everybody, I'm looking for more informations about this cross. I have one ribbon bar in my collection inwhich the german officer received in 1908 the cross 1st class for war of the Military Order of Merit. Can someone tell me how many crosses were awarded before 1918, and if you know how many to German officers. Here is one close up of the ribbon Thanks for your help Christophe
    4. Hi, They seems good to me. But not sure they belonged to same personn. It seems that both are not same size, can you confirm this please. Congrats for your purchasing Christophe
    5. Thanks Claudio, My wife is the best, my son says that she is the best mom of the world, of the universe Thanks for your comment. This bar is very interresting indeed. I like the fact that he's worn peace and war Reuß ribbons. The only problem is the fact that I have no data about Reuß awards. In the Nimmergut's book he does not give us data for Reuß, so I don't know if it is rare or not. But I like. Christophe
    6. Hi everybody, I would like to show you what my wife has bought for me for my birthday. She has bought this nice ribbon bar. She outbid me (without my permission of course) but it's not important, like I have it now in my collection. Franz Richard Georg Amadeus Blohm served till the beginning of the war with the Jäger Bataillon Nr. 13 (whose Chief was the Prince of Reuß). His carreer : Fähnrich : 24.02.1903 Leutnant : 23.10.1903 Oberleutnant : 13.09.1912 Hauptmann : 17.03.1915 Hauptmann a. D. : 15.04.1919 Before the war he's received the following medals : The first one was the cross first class for general service of the Military Order of Merit of Spain on 13.10.1908 The second one was the Bronze Life Saving Medal on 15.03.1910 The third one was the Reuß Ehrenkreuz 4th cl with crown on 15.01.1914. During the War he has received the others orders and medals Sa3aX : 6.02.1916 SA3bX : 31.10.1914 RE3XKr : 6.04.1916 EK2 : 1.10.1914 BrKVK2a : date unknown After the WW1 he received the others medals Marine corps Flandern (not sure about the ribbon) : date unknown Hindenburg cross : date unknown Hungarian commemorative medal for WW1 service : date unknown Hauptmann Blohm was in the Reserve Jäger Btn from the beginning of the war till december 1916 and after that he was in the Feldeisenbahn 3. Armee Christophe
    7. Hi Ask to the seller to send you close up of the medal and more particulary about the dots. LAst thing, if you have a doubt, it means that red flag appears and it's not good at all. Keep your money and wait for a better one. Probably you will find one in a medal bar. Goold luck and good hunt Christophe
    8. Ok, so the short list contains 6 names. After doing small research, I can eliminate Klaus Groth like he received the SSr2 on January 1914. So the short list has now 5 names. For the other officers, till I have the file or photo in hands I have foudn nothing more to add to their bars. Christophe
    9. Hi Christer, One new name for you : KS Hauptmann Klaus Groth has received the knight cross 2nd class of Schwert Order on 9.01.1914. Christophe
    10. Hi Joe, Welcome on board, impressive collection. Don't hesitate to post more. thanks for sharing your collection with us. Christophe
    11. Hi Misiu, Very very nice photo. Congrats It is possible to make a very good close up of the ribbon bar. It can help to identify the owner. Christophe
    12. Hi, I see the dots on the U too. If I take the book, the author says that the weight's medal is between 25,9g and 28,2 g. So it seems to be ok for the weight. The Weigand f (ecit) is ok for this cross and the EW is for Emil Weigand. So I think your cross is a perfect example, now you have to see with price and then show it to us asap. Congrats Christophe
    13. Hi Paul, Great research as always, thanks for sharing it with us. Thanks to give us new date for SA rolls. Christophe

Hans Lieberoth-Leden H d.R. Johannes Monse H d.R. Richard Mühl H d.R. Hans Poeschel Ritt d.R. Walter Schröder H Gerhardt Vogel Christophe
    15. Hi, About price, it depends, I haven't got in my hands a recent book from Nimmergut, but you can ask to someone who has got one in hands. Probably between 300 to 400 euros. Of course all depends of quality, makers, weight size, if it is with ribbon or not ! I don't collect Lippe medals, but I know that such medals are very rare to find, so if you have an opportunity, take it !!! Don't forget one thing, if you want it, know that you will become a Lippe collector and after that you will enter in this aera and you will never leave it ! Christophe
    16. Christer, The first one was Adjudant of RJB Nr. 13 till december 1916 and served after in "Feldeisenbahn 3. Armee". Before the war he was in the JB Nr. 13 (whose Chief was the Prince of Reuß). Second officer was in the Fuß Art Regiment before the war and till 1916. After that he was in Generalstab 32 ID. Christophe
    17. Hi, Very interresting medal. In the Schwark's book about Lippe Orders and medals, it appears that this medal has been awarded for both military and civil men. It was built in gold and in silver. Medal in gold : 173 medals were awarded between 1888-1918 Medal in silver : 593 medals were awarded between 1888-1918. Several makers made those medals : Carl Büsch, Sy & Wagner and C.F. Zimmermann. Can you tell me if there is an hallmark on this please. It is a rare medal. I'm not a specialist about this medal, but when I look the one in the Schwark's book, it looks like very similar. Before buying this, just ask the seller about size and weight to be sure. Christophe
