    2. Hi all Recieved this today in a mixed group of items. I have a good feeling about it, but I havent had one before. Hopefully someone can confirm my felings that this is a good one. Thanks Dan
    3. Bloody hell, your quick! Thanks for your help Kev. I was thinking of moving this on as its not really in my feild of collecting. Any idea as to its worth? Thanks Dan
    4. I had the same feeling... I can see the a faint outline of an 'R' and the lines running along the rim look like it could have been prviously polished down and renamed. I hope I am wrong Dan
    5. Hi Kev I knew it was Irish... im sure i have seen one on here in the last year. Any idea what the writing says? Or what the double F stands for? Dan
    6. 36566 CPL J DONNELLY LEIC R Not a casualty as far as i can see. Havent had chance to search for his MIC as yet Have plenty of wwi ribbon so will switch that out later Thanks Dan
    7. The EK2 is marked "93" on the ring for Richard Simm und Sohne, Gablonz, a maker ive not come across before The Air Gunner's Badge is a Deumer, but has an awful repair to it. will post later in relevant section
    8. Last of the "Unknowns" Possibly Kreigsmarine, maybe Soviet...I just dont know. It appears that something is missing from the top (de-nazified??) Your guesses welcome!
    9. Thanks Dan! Next up is a polish badge. Have definately seen this before but cant bring to mind what it is.... Pin is missing.
    10. There are a few pieces that I dont recognise - can anyone help? Now, the first one... Possbly a membership badge of some kind, or a cap cockade for a political officer? Maker marked to the rear, RZM M1/34
    11. Afternoon chaps and chapettes The postman managed to brave the deep snow and sub-zero temperaturs this morning, and behold the treasures he brought! This little lot all came from one guy who's father had collected it over about 40 years. Some nice little peices - im not sure about all of it but over all im more than chuffed! Feast your eyes
    12. A great item, and an amazing bargain! Congrats I wouldnt worry at all with regqrds to the missing peices and small crack - its from a great maker and at that price who could complain?! All the best Dan
    13. The photos are very cool - but to be honest are also very sad. If these are genuine combatants, just think of what thy must have done/witnessed. It can be difficult for grown men and women to deal with the realities of war, let alone small children.
    14. I have been following this thread since i first became a member of GMIC, and it has been a real education to see such great examples from several different collections! I feel honoured to see them - keep posting! dan
    15. Congrats on the first one! Its a lovely example All the best Dan
    16. An old topic I know, but I thought i would share my lovely HSF.... RS&S, great looking peice - but obviously the pin is all wrong. Wish I had known that one earlier! Would have saved myself £125 a few years ago!
    17. I agree too - a nice example of a late war peice. I really like the dull tone
    18. Hi Chaps Just had this peice offered at a great price - and it all feels a little bit too good to be true, What do we think of it? Thanks Dan
    19. This is the sellers photo, not mine, and I havent held the badge in my hands. These are the points that i feel are incorrect - 1 - roughly hand stamped numbering 2 - The "O" of Sozialistische is too oval rather than round. 3 - the Deschler stamp is unlike any i have seen before and probably several other faults i havent noticed. So what do we think? Dan
    20. Morning chaps I have had a collction of items offered to me today, and within them is a Deschler GPB. However - i dont fel to confident about it....Take a look, what do you think?
